Do you upload pictures on your blog?

Postby remnant » 16 Nov 2016, 20:07

There are bloggers who seldom upload pictures on their blogs making them look like academic essays. Its recommended that a standard 500 word blog should have 2 images uploaded to present a professional look. Embedding them in the body of the blog works best.

I upload screen shots a lot, or videos using screensharing. It adds authenticity to my presentations.

For remote publishing, it is difficult to upload pictures, only a link to the image can be included

I do upload in every post of mine. I find it eye relieving after a bunch of texts. It gives a professional look and engages the readers too. Especially, those pics with some short text to read.

My blog is about the work I do on my bonsai trees, so it would be meaningless without photos. I'm sure that I use a lot more than two photos for every 500 words I write.

I'm interested to know what type of work you perform on your bonsai trees. Do you mind sharing?

Yes, I do! Even going as far back as when I used to blog on online writing sites, I always attached what I felt were eye-catching pictures to draw people in. I personally prefer articles with nice pictures, otherwise I lose interest FAST.

Yes, I think pictures are important. They help to further clarify your articles, and give the reader something to look at. Especially if you are doing a tutorial post, then pictures can really enhance the accessibility of the tutorial for novices.

I sometimes put scenery on a photo of a vacation spot if I am writing about an opportunity or a great program :D

I agree that you need photos to stimulate the minds of the readers. I usually upload my own photos or find a free creative commons photo that I can use which is related to my blog.

I have before but not recently. It is something I really need to change though. The blog can look boring with no picture to the post and I am sure readers would appreciate it as well.

Just to add to what WorkAtHomeGal said about blog entries without images looking boring; I feel they look too clinical, cold and stiff. To me, such blogs look almost unapproachable, like they're trying too hard to come across as being serious and intelligent. It's a huge turn off for me. Obviously they must have a very specific readership they are targeting that doesn't include me.

Majority of my blogs have pictures that are relevant. Particularly my blog about pets, most of the pictures there are of our pets during their day out.

Mostly pruning them and wiring branches into the desired positions. If you're interested to see more, the globe symbol below my name will take you to my blog. I've also just requested a signature so I'll add the link there as soon as I can.

I never buy ready trained bonsai trees preferring to create my own from nursery stock, cuttings and even seed.

Yeah, I always quickly lose interest when the text on a blog article is not broken up by visuals, whether that be pictures or videos. Text without visuals makes me feel like reading the article is a long chore and makes the information harder to absorb.

Since my blog is mostly about house plants and how to care for them, each post needs to have a picture of the plant in question so it can be properly identified. I use Bloger. I had used Blogger for almost two years before I had the idea to enter the html editor and manually resize the photos!

Gina145, that sounds like an awesome hobby. I'll have to visit your blog now. 8)

Pictures enhance a blog especially its readability. In my first year of blogging, I didn't upload any picture for I didn't know how and it didn't come into my mind to put a picture or two to my blog. And as I went along and through my reading and exposing myself of other blogs I have subscribed I had noticed that there are pictures related to the topic written about. That's it. I started uploading photos, my original photos. If I couldn't get one, I provided it with infographics in my own design.

Since my blog was (and my new one will be) about making things, it needs images. If not a full tutorial, it at least needs to include the important steps for making the project. For upcycling, before and after (at least) is needed.

I lose interest quickly too if there are no pictures.
