What sort of anti-spam measures have you taken on your forum? :)

We use Anti-Spam ACP, that integrates with Stop Forum Spam, here on Forum Coin. We are very happy with it as it works very well for keeping the spammers out.

I just changed my anti-spam questions, seems to be helping. I think the bots know the answers to the over-used questions out there.

Unfortunately they do, that's why it can be a good idea to make your questions specific to your forum. Questions that only human visitors to your site would know the answer to, work great.

I typically use a registration question and answer as well as an email confirm. Afterwards I typically do not allow links to be posted until 5 posts.

That method seems to work well enough.

Sometime I cant registered on forum that have Stop-Forum-Spam installed and activated. They keep saying that my IP was known as a spammer.

Right now, I am suffering from spammers. I am deleting them manually.

I need to find a solution and do it fast.

I currently use a captcha but I think I do want to look into changing that a bit so we don't get spammers. We haven't had any yet, but it's better to be safe than sorry right? :)

We are now using Sortables CAPTCHA here which is like a glorified Q&A but is a bit harder for bots to get past.

For MyBB I use 'security questions' and choose easy to answer questions but ask them in a way which a bot couldn't answer easily. I also have a plugin which stops users from signing up too quickly. I am a very very very fast typer and I have auto fill for most fields but even I can not go as fast as a bot so this kind of weeds out any bots that go quickly. If a user does go that fast they can go back and take their time. And finally I use Goodbye Spammer to stop any manual spammers or bots that slip through the net.

I've used similar plugins for MyBB. But it's not working effectively. :( This is another reason why I want to try out phpBB one day.

If your email address is listed in the database then it might be a rogue submission. I have sent you a PM about it.

I simply changed the Q & A capture to
'What is the name of this site" and its kept 100% of spambots out.
