SOmetimes it works, sometimes a handful of views.

Yes, I share my posts on social media and all my posts are public so that everyone can view it. It has been helpful for me for some time.

Drawing users to your site is not expected to be easy. Various factors, the key one being your online reputation, are bound to influence users' views about your urls.

It depends on what it is I am sharing. On my Facebook I have shared payment proofs from survey websites before and a few small things. Twitter and my blog is mostly where I share anything online related though. Until I get my blog a way where I might like it more, that is when I will share it to personal family.

I do but not as much as I could. The main site I do share my work on is Facebook, but I view it as mainly generating awareness and interest for now. I do post links on Redditt and have noticed that some of the visitors we get have come directly from Redditt, so I'll keep using that. I do post a bit on Twitter, but I don't have many followers, so i'm not even sure if that's any use. I also post on LinkedIn. I have a Google+ account; maybe I should put that to use.

Yes on quora it is really not easy. In fact lot of people may downvote if you use links too much. I guess one has to use at the most one link at a time.

Yes I share my posts on as many social media sites as possible from the site itself. I have yet to share URL of a post/article separately (not from the original site though). I have a fixed schedule of sharing my work like I share on Twitter frequently, and on all other sites just once. I never share on facebook because that is fruitless for me.

If you want to get more people to see your posts, then it's a good idea to share it on as many sites as possible. If you don't want friends and family to see you posting lots of links, then create new accounts to use just for this purpose.It's no problem having multiple Twitter accounts, and many other social sites are fine too. Facebook might not like it, but they also must expect some households to have multiple family members using the same computer for different accounts.

You don't need to create a new account at Facebook. Just create a page related to whatever you're planning to post about. If you visit other pages on a similar topic, like and comment, hopefully some people will visit your page too. It's not easy to get followers, but the page I created for my blog has a few.

I don't have the habit of sharing what I posted online on social media site. Unless the post I made is very unique and I want to share it to reach a lot of people. This is mainly because I make a lot of posts everyday and if I were to share every post I make on social media (strangely, I don't use any), they will consider me spamming or what's not.

I have a separate page on FB but it doesn't draw anything as I don't have very many followers of my page dedicated to my blog/articles. I don't think people really like to click on links on FB.

You don't get almost no views even if you have thousands of followers/friends because most of your followers' activity is limited to like your post at most write a comment. I never share on my FB page, neither I submit my posts in related FB pages.

If they don't like a particular link, users can always ignore such. But again, it is helpful to be mindful of your readers' preferences.

I never share via LinkedIn, but Facebook group does work as it has about 200K members, the rest just work so-so.

So far, Facebook is working nicely for me too, Twitter not so much. I think because a lot of people here have limited internet access, but will find the means through which to access Facebook (mainly via their phones) it fits in with our Botswana audience. However, because we want to reach as many people as we can accross the globe, I recognise we need to explore other means of publicising our site.
