Malwarebytes anyone?

Postby turtledaddykim » 17 Apr 2015, 04:02

Does anyone use Malwarebytes?
Malwarebytes is an program that protects your computer from virus, fishy websites, fishy programs/downloads and manymore. It also repairs files that the virus damaged :D . If you have Malwarebytes premium it will last for a full year and you will be able to run the premium on 3 PCs.

Reply below the anti-virus you use and why you prefer that over others :D :P

I tried it a few months ago and stopped when I changed my antivirus and I don't like running a lot of background programs on my computer.

I've used Malwarebytes for a few years. It's really good at catching things other programs miss.

I also use ComboFix when some anti-malware "panacea" is needed - though be careful using this, as it can remove things that it possibly shouldn't (I had to re-install .NET 4.5 once, since it apparently removed some dlls).

Malwarebytes does work alongside other major anti virus solutions and I do use Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium along with the free version of Malwarebytes Anti Exploit and Bitdefender.

I prefer a complete wipe and reinstalling Windows every year. I have never found a complete solution to malware protection, other than manually removing it.

I've used Malwarebytes in the past. It worked well for me! I switched over to using McAfee though.

Honestly, I don't use premium anti-virus because I'm very cautious on what I download and what I visit. But I use AVG...never failed me once

I use it, and have done for quite a while. It's a good program, but you need to keep in mind that it's not a replacement for anti-virus software, and doesn't remove all common malware - rather, it's designed to detect malware/viruses other programs miss.

Yup, funny story, my boyfriend was complaning that his internet keeps cutting out so he couldn't play destiny and he kept calling our ISP and telling them to fix our connection when in fact the whole time it was his fault and his computer had too many viruses. We used malwarebytes to clear most of them out.

I have read comparisons between malwarebytes and other antivirus. Just seen that a strong antivirus can be as effective as malwareytes - AVG, AVAST, ESET, McAfee

I have Malwarebytes premium installed in my PC. It is really a good software. It helped me in removing Adwares from my PC. I used to do scanning and removing of these adwares from AdwCleaner but it proved to be unsuccessful in removin' an adware named Breaking News Alert.
I gave a try to Malwarebytes which successfully removed Breaking News Alert from my PC :)
But, it consumes much ram while running in background. That's why, I prefer to keep it off after scanning PC.

Sometimes you have to clear your cookies in your browsers after you scan and that should get rid of it :)
