Have you ever designed your own Logo?

Postby thisnthat » 29 May 2015, 20:16

There was I thread earlier about finding good logo designers without spending a lot. My question is have you ever designed your own logo?

I've created several logos over the years, but it was old school stuff. Creating logos for websites and such is completely different of course, but coming up with a great design is still the same thing. It's the creative part that I find fun.

If you design your own, what tools are you using to make them (and I don't mean logo generators.. that's not the same)?

I have tried creating my own logo, at first its complicated. Of course it needs practice, but you can try or just get some tips on youtube. Note, I use photoshop for creating logos. And Youtube as my teacher. Don't be afraid to fail its just a part of your success. If its ugly, then try again. :) Good day fellas!

For a big business, the brand and associated logo might be relevant but if you're considering doing it yourself then it must be for a small business so I would not waste too much time or money on the logo unless you enjoy dabbling with Photoshop or whatever.

I'm not expert to make logo for myself and when I need for profesional use I always buy logos by recommendation. For me logo is very important to present you as individual or your company.

I did, but it was so ugly.

I'd rather splash a few quid and buy a decent one.

I know a little about Photoshop and I created a logo for my friend company. But this is the only one time :D

There are tons of software to help you design a logo , most of the ppl on fiver are using them to make quick 5$ from you , better use some google and make them urself.

Yes I have but it took me a long time as was only part of training.

I worked as a graphic designer for a printing company for a while. Normally clients would already have a logo and required printed materials. Any logo requests was completed by our head designer. Personally i would go to a company that specialists in branding for your logo rather than your local designer.

I actually have, but I use a free program I found on the Microsoft Webstore or whatever it's called. This was before I started any sort of coding. But I was pretty proud and happy with result. I use that logo for my Youtube channel now. My sister actually made my banner art herself with Microsoft paint.
