Font choice

Postby blair » 15 Jul 2015, 08:41

It is not easy starting something like a forum or site from the ground up especially if you will start on your own. You have to make good and timely decisions all on your own regardless if you are well-informed or not. One of these decisions which could make or break your site is choosing the appropriate FONT. It may sound trivial but that is a fact. Anyone here who had to face the same and how was it?

I experienced same situation as yours, I find it hard to choose font style to use for the content of my web project, I visit any sites before I decided what font should I choose, It's just a small problem but it will change a lot.

Using only 1 font style for all text's makes it easier to read. The company i'm working for always use Meiryo as the main font.

Comic sans.

Nah, I'm just kidding, I haven't built a site or blog or forum and had to choose fonts for that, but for my schoolwork I really like Arial. It's pretty standard, but it looks just fine for what I use it for. Helvetica for a more industrialized feel.

It can be difficult to choose. I think it really depends on what topic or niche you cover on your site. Some fonts just really fit certain topics well. I think the best advice is to keep it easy to read.

For me, I find it easy to choose Font, I just choose the font that looks best, I mean, easy to read and light.

We once used comic sans serif as per the suggestion of our technical assistant. But it did not get on good grounds so we were back to the standard Arial.

if it is for a logo, you should choose a striking source
if it is to text, you should choose a source that never bores reading

call me tacky but i prefer comic sans ms. it is not too formal and if it is a person, it will be an approachable one. although it might depend on the site. some sites need a really formal font which some people find very intimidating and discourages some pranksters.

The more choices I have the more it gets difficult for me to choose; imagine spending like an hour trying all the options?

I have seen there is a choice of font with different options, ie, blog, italic and underline etc., thanks for sharing.

make it classy and formal looking. I always use Georgia in all of my works for uniformity. I stick with this because I want to practice something corporate to match in my professional work place environment.

I think this site use Arial and it is a well read for me. If I were to use a Font, it will always be Arial. I find it cute to use Comic Sans, but I only use it on my phone.
