The reason your earnings are low must be because your are not getting enough traffic! How many visits per day do you get? It took me a while just to make $30 from my Blogger site. It takes time and patience to build a quality blog. It is then and only then will you start earning more.

Adsense has a scheme of computation for revenue sharing. There's the hit and the reach - 2 different things used in their computation not to mention the new visitor. Unless you get hundreds of new viewers everyday, Adsense earnings will be slow. As with your question, Blogger is absolutely free.

Nothing is changed. Blogger is still free like most of Google products/websites.Blogger is amazing platform for beginners but if you plan serious things with your blog then go with Wordpress.

My mom has a blogger and she is not paying for her blog but of course the website is not exclusively saying it is a ".com." I have read that you have to pay to remove the .blogspot. I think if you just want a hobby like writing in blogs then this is the best platform because it's free and you can earn from it from Google adsense once you have enough content on your blog.
