Re: Have you ever coded anything?

Postby walash » 05 Jun 2015, 19:54

I coded a facebook friend adder bot for a friend of mine back in 2012. Updated it a couple of times, and he uses it until now. :)

Would you mind telling us a little about them? Your post would contribute a lot more to the discussion that way.

I only coded some simple things in school in IT lesson. We created simply databases with buttons and referring function.
It was in Acess I think.

I've been wanting to learn how to code for some time now, I've only done some simple hotkey modifications with AutoHotKey but I'm kind of confused on where to start. I'm thinking Python or something that can get me into mobile development.

Well coding is not a joke. You will have to be a genius to do that. Nowadays, some programs can generate a code for you and all you need is to copy the source code.

I wouldn't go as far as to say you need to be a genius. It is actually relatively easy to learn how to create websites using HTML at quality tutorial sites such as W3Schools and CodeAcademy.

I believe it was Mark Zuckerberg who said that in a video (which featured will.i.am) trying to convince people to learn to program. Most programmers take existing solutions and piece them together or add to them. If you are trying to reinvent the wheel and need to create ranking algorithms or something super complex you might need some advanced maths.

This Youtube channel is also quite good: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwRXb5 ... Hbx-rGzSgw
