Re: Does writing a longer article help in getting more traffic to your website/blog?

Well for sure I have learned that writing a longer articles or blog posts will likely get you approved for Google Ad Sense. I have a few blogs that are approved but when I submitted the others, they did not get approved. I went back through one of my blogs and reworked the content making the posts longer. When I requested approval the second time, the blog was approved.

I used to participate in revenue-sharing sites. That's where you and the site owner share the Ad Sense revenues. But the only article site where that has actually worked for me is HUBPages. All of the other sites? I never earned anything.

Longer articles have higher chance of getting traffic from search engines because long article leaves room for more primary keywords nd secondary keywords.

The magazine I worked for thrives on 300 character articles due to the short attention span of zoomers.

I hesitate reading long articles or posts but if the intention is only to get adsense approval then the purpose of involving viewers/readers is lost

I used to write for a sites that only required 300 words. I like it! Unfortunately, both sites shut down. The owners had personal reasons for not keeping the site going..

Longness of articles doesn’t only justify maybe be It is real or not but makes it real let the content of the article be good on how you place every words or sentence , try to avoid errors.

The length should be situational, there are articles that are meant to be short and there are articles that are meant to be long.

Exactly. And depending on where you publish them you can earn from either one.

An article about the last trailer of an MCU movie should not be longer about an article about serious current events.

I also believe that the topic defines the length of content. An article about the teaser can be fine with 200 words, but if you want to review the whole movie, you might require 500 words or even more. If you want to profile the director or the actor, you may have to write 2000 words.

As an entertainment writer, my articles are usually shorter but I reviewed a full season of a Netflix original and I end up with 2000 word. I got in the zone.

Most of my entertainment posts are short too. But every once in a while a TV show or movie impresses me so much I have a few words to share with others. :)

It is said that Google ranks content that have more words much better than content with fewer words. But from what I've seen, if you are creating fresh entertaining or helpful content on a regular basis, while also advertising and promoting your content the right way, then visitors will be attracted on their own. Best title and keywords are also very important for getting more traffic.

I'm not sure about writing a longer article. However I have heard that longtail keywords can really boost traffic to your articles. It's a Yoast tip.

If Google prefers long articles to grant a better position to a website, it may really help to get more traffic. But the matter may become to maintain the audience, to maintain users interested to the content. Usually, after bumping into the site, they become to get tired of long readings, so they may quit the site as fast as they have bumped in. A shorter but quality article is to prefer, in my opinion.
About entertainment posts, that are so specific: in this case, some users can really prefer longer articles, as a fluid reading it's easier than in the case they need to reed scientific or technical articles. But not all users: my readers, for ex., use to prefer shorter chapters of my e-books I publish on platforms, so lot of times I divide them into first part, second part, third, etc., to not tire my readers.

All I can say is there are some sites that let you publish short posts and you can make money at those sites. I know because I am at those sites. There are some sites like HUBPages where your article has to be at minimum 750 words and I earn money from HP too! I assume all of these sites are earning revenue from advertising and that's how they can share revenues with the writers, It seems like Google recognizes content that has certain keywords that relate to their advertisers, no matter how long or short the writing is.

If you are profiling an actor or a director, you cannot write about their filmography in 200-300 words, right? You need to write a long article.
