It is just your voice that gets recorded. You just talk your way through. I sometimes stutter, but I do it anyway, and I have a pretty good rating. The rating system on UT is actually pretty astute and well put together. It is not the rating system itself that makes me feel a certain type of way. It is the anxiety of not knowing whether or not I will be rated well or not based upon my performance. But every time that a client has rated me poorly, UT have reversed my rating and returned it to its high status. One client cited that they thought I was acting my way through the test, and gave me a lower rating due to that.

I was not acting at all, and to rate someone badly based on the assumption that they are not being authentic during the test is ridiculous. As they could not prove this, UT returned my rating to its previous standing.

Okay then, thanks for the explanation. I think you're just gun shy because of ... other... rating systems. ;)

At least the admin at that site has your back. That's good to know.

I have done reviews in mturk and it was very easy hits with good money.I heard about one site called review stream but I don't think the site exists now.

I think it's still there. I just opened the page, and it looks the same. I do believe it's more for reviewing products than websites though. It's also a bit of a chaotic site, in my opinion. I've never really done much with it. In fact, I kind of forgot about that one until you mentioned it.

Angie10 wrote:Wow, @simonex....that must have been quite a long time ago because as long as I've been at ChatAbout (now just over a year), we've never had user testing. I know you can do product reviews, but not website reviews. Plus, for as long as I've been at ChatAbout, i've always been able to redeem at 1 000 points. Before that, it was 500. I hear it then went to 1 000 for people outside of North America, before admin levelled out the playing field so that everyone now has to redeem at 1 000 points, regardless of where they're from. I doubt I'd still be there if it were 5 000 points LOL I'd never be able to cash out at all!

Yes, you are right, I wrote wrong 5000 instead of 1000, but anyway I found it as a too low rate for a website review, moreover I have created also a video about that site promoting it on social media. 100 points was nothing in my opinion. After I was banned without reason I have deleted all my promotions from the social media.

No worries, @simonex....I now get what you mean by site review! There was this thing where ChatAbout rewarded members for reviewing the site, as in ChatAbout, on your blog! I was racking my brain, trying to recall if there was ever user testing on there, which is not quite the same thing, and I was coming up empty LOL Glad that's been cleared up.

Sorry to hear you got banned without any explanation :( I've heard many of these stories from other people, and it's such a shame because I really do like ChatAbout and think it's a great site. I wish I knew why they do that, as i'm sure everyone who got banned would too!

Actually I have deleted all those reviews of ChatAbout due of my deletion without reason, and I've noticed that I forgot to delete my posts from Google+. Therefore I have done it this too few days ago.

I just maintain my two sites and gauge their effectiveness by the sign ups I get.

If it works and I get sign ups I rate it good.

If it doesn't work well, I rate it needs work.

For site reviews where there audio and video recording, they are the most lucrative site review platforms available (aside from an in-person panel). They pay the most. For the audio that is captured they expect you speak provide a very detailed walk-through as you review the site. The video will capture your body language and facial expressions-- besides verbal communication, nothing delivers a message more than this.

They're talking about working for sites that pay you to test other sites. Some require a webcam or at least an audio recording, as you navigate the site. Some of them pay decently, but those are usually the ones that want some type of recording.

I have done sites and stores reviews before, but the advertisers actually gave me three keywords about their sites to write about! Of course, they wanted a positive general tone since no business will survive with negative reviews!

If I write about a store, I often stick to the good impression that I have about the store, such as cleanliness, easy to find products, affordable pricing, etc..It is easy to write 300 words base on experiences too!

I have reviewed products at home but I have never reviewed websites. I might be good at this but right now it is not what I am looking for.

I do try to give an honest review, good or bad, although I'm not without bias. Even sites I like, I might not like everything about them, and I say so. I like to give good reviews of good sites though. They deserve it. I want them to do well.

I did product review a couple of times in the past but would like to know sites that pay really good outside the US, Canada and UK with PayPal as their cashout point.
