I think Google has not discovered...America with this free access to the Internet. Long ago already the free access to the Internet is available in the European countries, and I am sure in America too. That's why the people can't detach their eyes and their ears from the smartphones while walking on the street, paying not any attention if a train will hit them.

That is true.In our country also there are so many public spots where internet is free,railway station ,bus station etc.As you told people are so keen in checking smartphone that ends in accidents.

In a way there already was free internet if you consider that some McDonalds and other fast food chains have free Wi-Fi. Our local Tim Hortons (We have 4) all have free Wi-Fi and the library is a good place to get free access to computers and an internet connection with a library card of course. I guess this is an interesting move I sure wish I could get mine discounted, I was in a promo but it has ended.

Exactly. I am quite confused by this new concept. If it is new at all. It seems like it could be a publicity stunt to appear like Google is doing something new when it is doing something that is already happening lol.

Many people are able to earn money when they go to the library, which offers free wifi. All you have to do is set up an account with the library, and you can have access to internet if you are poor.

Within this month of February, one of the cities in our region would be having a free wifi connection in their public plaza for the people or residents in that place could have a free access to Internet. It is the pilot project of our government. I don't know, however, on the manner either there is a limit as to the usage or whatever.

Well, some people argue that the internet should be regulated as a basic necessity (similar to food, water, shelter, electricity). In that case, socialists would prefer to distribute it to the entire population. Capitalists would argue that it prevents competition. It's an interesting issue.

"FREE" anything has to be paid for by others.

Google is not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. Companies are in business to make money for their stockholders.
