I agree with that, but when the forum owner themselves get very defensive about people having differing views, then what hope does the forum have of flourishing lol?

It is best to allow all the posts to flow so long as they meet the required level of decency. If a forum owner should only agree or allow posts he/she agrees to it's gonna look too autocratic kind of.

Hmm what about differing views on your article like maybe a different suggestion or approach to make money - do you discard those, too? I think it is still OK to publish comments like that but maybe reply to the comment about respecting opinion but your strategy is different?

I don't like to censor. I usually only delete spam. In your case, I would probably allow the comment and then engage with that person. I'd want to know why they feel the way they do (and I'd probably want to tell them how wrong they are).

Not at all. If the comments are helpful and positive in nature, then I welcome them on my article. No problem. But if they are necessarily negative or I feel they work against my goal of making money then I don't allow it to show up on the comments.

Forum means a place to discuss, air views and experiences which may differ from person to person.

Not all will agree with the site host but as long as it doesn't contain obscene material I think we should stick to the notion of freedom of expression.

I think the general rule of thumb is not to be malicious and offend people. But of course, everybody has different trigger points, and you cannot regulate how often people get offended and what they get offended at. So it is tricky and always a little difficult to get the ambiance of a forum right with rules.

Apart from spam comments everyone can comment as long the comment is not against the ethics and vulgar. I don't care what is your view point about me as long as you are trying to tell me something for my benefit.
