@walash That is a detail step by step on how to use Tumblr. Now I have a decent general idea of what to do should I decide to have an account there. It seems like lots of work, posting every week, every day?

In my understanding, you are not earning from Tumblr itself, right? You only make money from the traffic it sends to your blog or whatever? It is confusing when people are twisting their understanding to something totally different.

I have signed up tumblr when I joined blogjob lately, not only to promote my posts, but also I like the idea of micro-blogging. It seems easy to blog by just writing some words or adding an image. But I have not really follow others yet, hence I am not getting any referral or traffic from there yet.

@walash Thanks for the useful information. I will try to follow your guide. ;)

It doesn't matter what country you're in, unless Tumblr is blocked for some reason. The great thing about internet marketing is you have access to most countries around the world - your Tumblr audience can be anywhere! :)

I guess it'd be difficult to use virtual friends to earn, so I've given Tumblr a wide berth.

Back in 2011 Tumblr is the best option for me to start my blog. True to its promise it was indeed the easiest to use and start a blog. Today there are quite a lot of options where people hang out and most of my target audience are on social media sites like IG FB twitter and not on Tumblr.

Join blogs in rich fandoms, like one direction or whatever. They usually have a lot of student fans. Follow those blogs, interact with the people a little, and when you share your posts they will likely reblog yours.

Hey guys,

As my previous post about tumblr made some success, I decided to write a guide on how to drive real targeted traffic to your website. I've been busy with two new websites I'm working on this week but I want to release the guide by the end of the next week.

I am planning to help people who already have websites to reach at least 15k visits/month without investing a single penny. It doesn't matter if it's a wix or weebly website with no dedicated domain. I'm not sure how the article will be structured but it should include:

- Organic Traffic (On-Page SEO and keyword research);
- Social Traffic (Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram);
- Referral Traffic (Forums, Directories and others);
- What not to do and why you should avoid traffic exchange websites.

Cheers,
Wal

I only think Tumblr is like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and StumbleUpon that you get some views once you share your piece of writing there. I use it before during Bubblews and now trying out with Tinycents.

Wow, thanks for that, Wal....I'm looking forward to seeing your finished guide, although I notice the timeframe you set for it has long gone :( Will you definitely be sharing it here on ForumCoin? Thanks also for the step by step guide you posted on making the most of Tumblr. I think it'll come in handy for a lot of us novices who are trying to dip our toes in the world of blogging :)

I thought you are already spending much time there. :roll:

I just recently joined tumblr, and share my posts in tinycent there. I am not sure if I get much traffics from there, as I haven't really explore it much and gain followers from there. But I do like their web design and functionalities, it looks good!

No, Tumblr don't have their own earning program, but you can add AdSense (and presumably other ads) to your blog. You have to access the html to do that though, but there are guides online that will help you with that if you don't know how.

I wish they'd had this before. I've had tumblr blogs that were extremely popular before. But now I don't. I would've earned a lot.

They probably did have it, but you didn't know about it. I don't think that it's very well publicised on Tumblr, but other people have written about it.

My problem is that I've got AdSense, but I don't know how to get my content noticed, so I'm not earning anything there anyway.

@Gina145, I know they didn't have it at the time. When I had those popular blogs, there were not even regular adverts that they have on Tumblr these days.

I have been on Tumblr for quite a long time and have equally heard that people are able to make money on the site. I haven't really taking out the time to see to how it goes there, as in earning from the traffic on the site.

I didn't know that. But maybe that's because I only found out that Tumblr existed in 2015. Then again I tend to be late finding out about most of the good sites.

Lol. Yes, I was on there back in 2011, and have had two very different very successful blogs on there in that time. It seems much harder to build a following now though.

What a shame you don't have them any more because it would have been a lot easier to monetise those than to start from scratch.

@Gina145, I know. But those blogs were based upon fandoms and fads that I long ago grew out of. They wouldn't be as popular now due to that.

Gotta necro bump this one just for clarification:

Tumblr is a traffic channel, so you should be posting content on tumblr with links to generate traffic to your website or blog which should be monetized somehow (Adsense, CPA, Clickbank, Surveys, PPI and so on). This is the best option because you can make multiple social media pages and send traffic to your Money Site, in IM we call it a Traffic Funnel.

Still, you can actually earn from Tumblr alone these days, as they just implemented a new earning program last month:
https://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/partnerprogram

If you have a lot of followers, this might be a good idea. I can't tell for sure as I never took part on it.

I actually did a couple of months ago as you can see in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12325

Too bad not a lot of people seemed to use it to take some action. I guess people at FC are too much into PTCs and Microworkers kind of stuff. I think it's okay to raise some money that way but you should reinvest it to make more money on a more effective way.

Hope you make good use of it. ;)
