I like the one against the dark background. But against that particular colour, the white of the last two letters look too bright, may be you could tone it down. However, it will look if you are thinking of changing the background colour.

I think this looks better compared to the first. Well, I like to commend you for the idea.

I like this fine, but after looking at it again I would suggest you try some graphic effects to give it more snap, like

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

Wouldn't that be a bit too much for a study forum?

I think what you have created suffices for your purpose. You should go ahead with it. :D

I do like the darker background, but I feel like there may be a little too much blue? Maybe that is just personal preference though.

I get the idea behind the chat bubbles but in my own opinion I prefer them to look a bit streamlined: instead of making a curvy shape on the tails maybe a sharp linear tail will be perfect. That is me being heavy on material design. The dark background is working. The VU grabs my attention for some odd reasons. It looks like MU to me. I wonder if it is necessary to change the font to avoid confusion. With the useful comments people here are giving I guess you do not need to pay Usabilityhub to do that job.

Great job.

Thanks and that font is the actual logo of the university, so its kinda the main point of it, won't change its style.

I love the dark background. Are the last two letters capital V, capital U?

I'm have a difficult time telling because of the font used on the last 2 letters. Other than that, I think you hit the target! Congratulations.

It definitely shows up better on the darker background. I can't really see the outline on the letters of the word "forum" now though (if that even matters).

It seems like you are really getting into this. I hope it all works out for you, and that you will be happy with your forum.

I agree about the outline. Perhaps the white letters would pop more with a thin black outline.

It looks ok as it is, but it is those little finishes that really create a pop, and a sense of professionalism. I feel like an outline on the letters would be nice, but it wouldn't have to be black :)

Any color suggestions then? Which would pop out more on that dark background.

How about a nice thin luminous silver or a gold?

That sounds good. I'll try it and show you guys...
Meanwhile the new theme has been released. Do check it out and let me know hot the new logo looks on it. And the overall style of it.
Thank you
