I'm not using Facebook. It keeps telling me I have to use my real name. I don't want my business stuff connected to my personal life stuff. I've never really liked how intrusive FB is anyway. I did set up a Twitter account and a Google+ but I need to get my Pinterest page together and set up a Netboard page as well.

That's a great result, can you tell us a little more about how you achieved that?

Sure. :)

The site was: webmasterdaily.net. It auto posted from various sources and tweeted the post title and a shortened link.

I didn't get it right first go. I purchased 140,000 odd fake followers. Twitter slowly deleted these. They did serve the purpose of getting me over 2000 followers to be allowed to follow others. In the end I had 9,000 odd fake followers and 4500- 5000 real followers.

I used the following exchange sites:
Twiends
SocialClerks
and a couple of others but I am sure there are better ones around. Twiends brings in quality followers so that's where you want to focus, exchanging every day. I also got the odd non exchange follower from FP.

Thanks for the information mate!

I think that twitter is more useful becouse on facebook there are a lot of fake profiles that aren't efficiente. So make plugin for twitter that users who visit your site can share it on twitter and thats it.

I created a facebook page and group for the same site I manage. I know base from other reviews that I will benefit from this social media site. This is where most of the target audience are so I gave it a try. I got a decent number of visits but not as much as I have imagined. Better than twitter I must say.

How does linkedin help you? Does your topic have a business focus? I had asked before (on a different site, I believe) if linkedin would be a positive for social networking, but most people seemed to think it wouldn't help the average site/blog? How do you use it to promote?

Yeah I have a Facebook account for my site, these days people tend to look for social media contacts of a website so that they can trust that the site is not going to scam.
