But doesn't it needs to have an alexa toolbar installed? Or does rank goes up even without the tool bar? (the visitor, I mean).

I've a website which is ranking 91k right now. I'm thinking that it's because my public has alexa installed, because I had another website, 2 years ago, which had 1k visitors/day and it hadn't get to 91k rank

I've no idea how alexa works. Really.

Traffic is what determines our alexa ranking. Having enough traffic and active activities in our site helps it. Active participation and promotion is needed. Legit traffic exchange maybe>?

I don't know how Alexa ranks website. But wouldn't this cause your (or whoever uses it) website to have an HUGE bounce rate?

i think more traffic = more alexa ranking so make sure you can get a huge traffic to get a good alexa ranking
