I understand how that feels. I am in forum think for 12 years and till now I go and visit even if its not a high paying forum. I just love to stay sometimes and just read the interaction. It's not easy for me to leave a site that is close to my heart.

I understand that sentiment. Once you attach yourself to something, it's hard to almost not cry as you see it falling apart. To ensure forums like this don't die, we have to reduce the attrition rate of members. To do that, we need to convince them why people need or should participate in this forum.

But what I don't understand is what will the spammers gain by invading a forum like the one you mentioned. And yes, you are right - social network has killed many forums, and only few survive. I think one of the ways to keep a forum alive is make it a paid to post forum.

Sad, that the spammers take over a site like this. The fact that the admin is not responding doesn't bear well for the site either. I guess for you it is an emotional attachment too .

Spammer do hurt any website and that's why previosly also many websites stopped paying or working. Till now Digital Global was my favorite because of the earnings and ease of posting but they dissapeared too.

Social Network just killed many forums. I remember in early 2000's there are so many active forums everywhere.

This sounds bad. So to think of it, some of the forums who have spammers would possibly die as well soon of some people would register but don't have things to say that matter.
