I always design my own logos right from the very beginning. I take pride in my own creative skill and would rather save than hire someone to do it for me. Most famous brands we know did not have the most flashy and artistic logos take a look at Nike and Apple. These are simple designs that anyone can borrow and modify, the important part is selling the right service and product the logo is just a part of the whole business concept.

what tools are you using to make them (and I don't mean logo generators.. that's not the same)?

Adobe products, Illustrator, photoshop. been using those if im editing/creating some images for web development.

I did this with a free online logo creator and edited it in Photoshop.

I am a graphic designer that makes cartoons and anime videos (animes take to many time to animate). I make my logos when they are worth for anything because I mainly use text with unique font as logo.

Photoshop is one of the best programs for creating logos.

There are apps available that you can download for your logo making needs. Every free version has their premium options so if you are not happy with the designs might as well upgrade.
