Never share your email address with strangers who you don't really trust. Also, avoid replying to spam emails thats the only way.

I enjoyed reading the tips that everyone left this topic. I think that is basic to say that no one should give the password to anyone ... should also be basic to say that no one should leave the session started (especially in college computers), but it happens very often. Carelessness ... :)

You should put strong password to your account. Don't easily trust websites that requires your info because they might use that information of yours to scam others

I think most of the sites called that secondary authentication or something but yeah, that's a great idea and you can also try password encryption to hide the identity of your password in random numbers and letters.

I never had any problems with email just because I haven't given my password to ANYONE. So I suggest doing same thing.

Try not to reply on a suspicious emails such like spams, register on suspicious sites. I suggest you to use "fake/spam" email account for unknown sites.

First, I try to use a password that is not a real word. Mix it up with some letters, special characters and numbers. I also try to regularly change my password but sometimes this is a drag. I also immediately delete any suspicious looking emails of promo or winning the lottery and such. More likely the links contained in the emails are trojans or malware.
