Agree but that is minimum being offered these days. I feel 8 GB is a good start and I go for those type of the laptops these days.

If you've got budget issues then better go with refurbished laptops. My cousin got a refurbished MAC for 270 USD and it is working great.

The choice of laptop depends on your purpose for buying a laptop. The laptop you buy for general use and the laptop you buy for gaming would have different specs.

I just went through a similar exercise to buy a new Desktop with a lot more horesepower for my Internet Browsing and earning online. I spent a few months searching around before Black Friday and used a lot of that to earn Amazon Gift Cards (or buy them with BitCoin I earned) that took a lot of the pressure off the pricing for me.

I ended up with:
Dell Inspiron 3910 Desktop Computer Tower - 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Intel UHD Graphics 730, WiFi 6, HDMI, Bluetooth, USB-C, Windows 11 Home - Blue Condition: New for Half the normal price and I got another 5% back from my VISA Card.

Visa **** ****
Order Summary
Item(s) Subtotal:$669.00
Shipping & Handling:$0.00
Total before tax:$669.00
Estimated tax to be collected:$0.00
Gift Card Amount:-$337.40
Grand Total:$331.60

Something to think about :$: <3

Good deal but I would try search for NMVe/M.2 SSD drive. If you get this, you are secure for next 7 years with drive.

Re: Ideas to buy New Laptop

Here are some things to consider when shopping for a new laptop:

Purpose: What do you need the laptop for? Will you be using it for work, school, gaming, or general use? This will help you determine the type of laptop you need.

Processor: Look for a laptop with a powerful processor, such as an Intel Core i5 or i7, to ensure smooth and efficient performance.

Memory: Consider the amount of memory (RAM) that the laptop has. 4GB is the minimum you'll want, but 8GB or more is ideal if you plan to use the laptop for heavy tasks such as video editing or gaming.

Storage: Consider the amount of storage you'll need. A laptop with a solid-state drive (SSD) will be faster than one with a hard-disk drive (HDD), but an HDD may offer more storage for the same price.

Display: Consider the size and resolution of the laptop's display. A larger display with a higher resolution will offer a better viewing experience, but it may also increase the price and make the laptop heavier.

Portability: If you plan to take your laptop with you on the go, look for a lightweight model with a long battery life.

Brand: Research different laptop brands to see which ones have a good reputation for quality and customer support.

Price: Determine your budget and look for a laptop that offers the best value for your money. Don't necessarily go for the cheapest option, as it may not offer the features and performance you need.

Perhaps the one who created this topic has already bought the laptop of his choice. I am also thinking to buy a new laptop. I have always bought general use laptops, however, this time I have decided to buy a high end laptop.

I look out for the purpose of the laptop and the specs I need in a laptop that would serve that purpose.

I started the topic, but I didn't buy a new one yet. There are multiple reasons I am still waiting. I am not able to determine if I should use Windows, or Linux.

What is your choice and why?
