Re: Monopoly for real money?

Would you be allowed to create this game though? Wouldn't you need the Monopoly game owners to give you permission or something? I'm just worried that copyright might be an issue.

Yeah, copyright might be an issue. But I'm sure you could ask.

I think there is not any game like that, but I also would not mind! I also like to play Monopoly and usually also gain

Nah, I don't like "gambling" for money. I like the "sure" money that pays well for your effort. :) But yes, there are people that can win a lot of money from "gambling" but sooner or later the majority will lose a lot of money :P

I seriously love monopoly but i think if I'm starting to lose money if there's a real-money game like that, I'm going to be so doomed.

No I meant monopoly money, and then however many 100 to 1000 monopoly bucks you have at the end is how much money you win irl. I don't really like gambling.

If you dont use the name registered i think you can use the "game mechanics"
What a great idea, and it seems real viable in terms of money
The problem is create the game which i cant help

From a business point of view there's no way they could earn money this way. The ad revenue that could be gained from the people playing would be much less than what someone could earn if the pay structure was the way you described. Also it would have to be a knockoff type of Monopoly because it would be almost impossible to get the rights to use the Monopoly trademark unless Milton Bradley were the ones profiting. It's a nice idea but it would be almost impossible to implement and even if it was the payouts would be very low.

I personally, am just seeing this as "McDonalds Monopoly" thing they have each year, where you go buy their food, and on each item you will have little Monopoly cards, and each card has a different prize. (I won some free fries.) I think this is a really good idea, but it would take some work to make and if someone does make this monopoly thing, they probably would make money off of it.

Meh, maybe a good coder can make this game and put it on my forum in a arcade-like section.

I don't think that payment rate would be even close to sustainable, but otherwise, it might not be a bad idea. Why don't you go for it? Start finding out what you need to do to get permission, so you don't violate any copyright/trademark stuff etc.

I looked up the copyrights, found an interesting law that told me how this is possible.
