Re: what determines the quality of an article?

I think more than tags, keywords are important, content that uses keywords on the title and body has high chances of appearing on search engines compared to the content with no specific keywords.

I think the 1st ought to be readability. Second would be SEO and then other factors.

1) orthographic, grammar and syntax: in a nutshell, to be correctly written in every respect
2) consistency and coherence
3) pertinence

These from the formal point of view of the content. Then come SEO and keywords, from the technical point of view.

Language and grammar are very important because if the article is not readable, it will never get traffic. Formatting also plays a huge role in content quality. You should divide the article into small paragraphs, sections with sub-heading, etc.

Just put "How to earn money" then you instantly get a lot of views. Kidding. I think the article should be helpful. A lot of bloggers tend to compose an article that could help the viewers answer the problems. Or make it entertaining. People want to read something that would make them feel better.

The whole content matters, including grammer, language and everything else. If what you're providing to your audience is good and entertaining for them, then I think it will automatically get traffic. You need to respect your audience, and give them a great experience through your articles.

When the site contains formatting tools, great, it comes very easier. When Office Word is required, it begins to matter, especially for users who don't own Microsoft Office (this program is shamefully expensive).

Writers also should not be hypocrites because it will haunt them back.

Look at this writer and her double standards.

Cosmopolitan is a magazine that has nothing to say except sex. We, as a writer, need to have one voice. We should not show double standards.

We have a writer like that here and I have to correct that person multiple times. First the person made article that have lesser characters than required. Then an article that is not part of the categories needed here. I have to PM the person many times but I am glad the person is changing ways,

Before you publish articles on any site, you need to understand what kind of articles the site is actually looking for. IN most cases the sites are looking for articles that can be discovered on Google. Therefore, the writers must try to develop SEO content.

That is why I decided to focus on entertainment because every new release trailer is a new article for me to write and people always google them

I like to read on the shows that I like watching. However, I have never attempted to write on entertainment topics.

it sounds hard but it is easy because the source material is right in your front. I also have something useful out of my netflix and other streaming service subscription, I make money out of them. Also it can get your name featured at Rotten tomatoes.

One of the reasons why I have never attempted to write on entertainment niche is because of the competition. There is a lot of competition on this niche.

Check the articles of Popgeeks.com, they are looking for new writers. If you read their articles, You can have idea what type of articles they have. Trailer reviews are very common there. Its easier than other gigs because you only need 300 words. It has sister companies looking for new writers too.

Check for plagarism, use tags, at least 700 words per article, add in photos and straight to the point pointers

I will never be accused of plagiarism because I dont do it and I use synonyms to avoid having similar sentences with another writer. Like instead of using beautiful, I will use Ravishing or breath taking.

The what can determine the quality of articles is to write it without copy it, make it readable and meaningful.
