This is quite informative. I didn't know that the creator of dota 2 is also the one who creates HON.

You can also write about online games, those with very high rating with most players online per day, players of that game would love to read it. :)

I do agree with this. Maybe you can ask yourself too what games you should put on your website. The more experience on a game you played the more content you can do.

I think I like this idea. What do you mean by novelty?

I'd also consider adding some leaderboards or something like that. Like, if you profile a certain game then also talk about the top players. If you could get one of them to give you a quote or something, or mention your site in their streams, that would be cool too.

You can write an article about CS GO and its top players or CSGO tournaments and biggest prizes. That would be a really interesting article.

I think that rather than worry so much about which specific games to cover, it might be more prudent to think about how you can compel visitors to engage more. For example, if a popular game is having a tournament next month, talk it up now. Ask people who they think will win. Ask who they like and don't like. Whip up some rivalry. Add polls, stuff like that.

In my opinion I advise rather to make an article a game at least speak for myself when I do not know a game the first thing I do is read the descrisão to see whether or not interest me ;)

Well, I think (especially these days) that it's important to try to make your site stand out. Most markets are very saturated, so if you just have the same stuff every other site similar to yours has, what reason do people have to choose your site over others? You want yours to be the best and most interesting, to get people in the door and keep them coming back. You need something besides the same old stuff.

do not copy but go to some game sites you like and see how they do things and write articles. I know kotaku is a good site. the most popular games you already know but don't just focus on them try covering small games no one talks about that would be more interesting and different. a 50/50split of popular games and smaller games and maybe even human interest stories would be great

It depends on what type of game do you like to play like action, racing etc.
First pick your interest and then select one of them then you can write good stuffs about that topic.
