Re: Banned Member

I think that if someone were to get banned from this site or any other site, they should be informed on why they have been banned. I study business law and that is actually a right in many places you have. Part of some cyber laws.

I also think if you're blocked from a site, it's only fair that you're told the reasons for it. I've often wondered about some members here though, because I've seen some people's names marked "banned". It once happened when I went to like someone's comment and a message came up to say I couldn't, as they were banned. I found that weird because I would expect them not have access to the site, let alone comment on discussions.

CyberFreak wrote:The way I see it is as follows. If the user does something massively wrong then I do not bother telling them what they have done wrong. I class this as users who set up loads of accounts to cheat or who post the same spam post in reply to every topic they can. When they are banned they should know straight away what they did wrong and probably did those actions knowing they would probably end up being banned. In these cases I don't waste anymore of my time writing a reason to them for why I banned them.

If it is a user that posts repeatedly short posts after warnings then I usually leave a short message for them to see when they next visit and find out they are banned. Basically just giving the reason of posting too many low quality posts and ignoring warnings.

Cheating/blatant spamming/Persistent low quality posts are the only reasons we ban people here so far.

That sounds fair! The spammers and those who create multiple accounts already know anyway that they shouldn't be doing that. I don't even understand why they bother because they are ultimately caught out. You can't keep up the pretence and get away with it.

I'm glad you clarified that because I can now breathe easy. Talk of people being banned from any site always puts me on edge!

I guess multiple accounts and often breaking forum rules. It is better to avoid sharing computers while you are posting on earning sites.Follow rules to the latter.

Well spammers getting banned is not new and they will get an alert message as blocked or something while trying to access the site if they are blocked . They can very well raise support ticket to check why they were blocked if they feel they are genuine users. Else if they are spammers then agree to it because it is their mistake.

I think the administration of the said site should be able to tell the members of such a person, or post it on the website giving the reasons why it was done that way every one will be aware of any kind of violation.

It is better to get banned for breaking rule rather than for requesting payment.Sites that ban members when they are about to cashout, are all but scam websites.
I make sure i follow rules and post meaningful post as always.

For what I know banned members can see the site like any other non-member, to prevent them to see the site their IP would have to be banned (IP address ban filters) but they user can always use a proxy to acess the site.

My answer is Yes to all of your questions. All banned members should be informed of the reasons they were banned. Most of the times people are banned due to the violation of the Terms of Use of the site, most people never read them, others due to bad behavior for instance. Above all a user should be warned before being banned to give him/her a chance to correct what he/she did wrong. .

I think they will just ban your account so you can't use it anymore and you can just view the site as a guest. It is also a fair decision that we know the reason of that action. In that sense, we can defend ourselves if were not doing something wrong.

I think those banned members usually got message from the site the reason why they are banned yet maybe they knew it personally why they got banned.

It would be nice to know without just not letting the banned person post anymore. At least give the person a warning first too unless it is something very obvious like posting nekkid pics of people on the website. Most people know this is not allowed on most of these type of forums.

I think it depends on the site's owner if they will inform the members when they are banned. On my experience, a website like seraphic insights informed me when they casted me away.

I think the owner must clear all of the things which lead to ban in their faq and every user should read that faq first before working on it. This will be profitable for both users and owners.

Yes, a user should have the right to know the reason why he/she has been banned. Otherwise, banning members without any justification is the indication of a scam site.

The main reason for being banned is to stop a member from access to the site.It is a way of terminating a member who does not follow rules of the site.Sometimes it is better to inform one in order to have a room of defense in case of innocence. For example if someone uses your computer to access the same site,it might be mistaken for multiple account and in this case you need to be informed but it is wise to refrain from sharing computers.

I think people should be banned for a particular period if the offense is not big enough.

Im sorry about that. Well, it would really depend on the owner. Banning members is okay as long as they can protect their sites. I know that site who casted you away will regret soon because you are talented.

Yes, they will sometimes play innocent, and then spread malicious lies about certain websites, calling them a scam on review/scam alert websites, and that is likely to ruin the experiences of others with those websites.

Yes, I've seen this in action. I see people calling earning sites "scams," only to find out later that they were banned for cheating. They can't cry "scam" when they're the one doing the scamming... they didn't get paid because they cheated (not due to being scammed). The funny part is when someone who knows them from that site comes in and tells everybody what they did, but yeah, they might keep people from trying out a good online earning opportunity.
