Re: A Thanks Button

Postby Guest3 » 23 Jan 2014, 00:19

On my forums I usually just use the Like button, not thumbs down, or thumbs up

Also thanks is useful, but most users don't use it because it does not increase post count

It'd be nice if we also earned from Thanks received. That way members will make high quality posts to increase their earnings instead of just posting stuff to reach the daily cap.

Just a suggestion :)

I think a good idea, because you have to measure how many people liked your text or your idea

i think it's going to bring positive vibe when you can "thank" other users for their valuable post on threads because that simple way shows how you value one's opinion and help to you.

It is the tool used on Forum Coin, yes. I like it, because it allows you to leave a brief message to tell the person why you upvoted or downvoted them. You don't have to leave a message to use it, but you can write something in if you like. I think it's good system. Even if you don't really have something to add to the thread, you can let the person know how you feel and that you agreed/liked (or disliked) what they had to say.

Thanks button is great for me, although I never use it because im not used to. It's a great way to let someone that post is good, helpful etc.

I think the reputation button is a good idea and I don't think I use it enough because I keep forgetting. I'm not keen on the thumbs down button because some people can be a bit harsh and use it when they don't really need to. They had one on Bubblews and it was really abused at times. If someone took a dislike to another person they would dislike all their posts which understandably really upset them.

Sometimes I can see that people here get a -50 rep. How does that happen?
