I have around three VPS in which I run some bots to earn money. I have 2 linux and 1 windows vps. I avoid hosting Game Server since it is a magnet for DDOS attacks.
You can try DigitalOcean and with a coupon you can get $10 free.

I have used digital ocean for about 6 months ($5 a month) and it has been brilliant. There are a lot of detailed guides to follow to help you if you get stuck and the performance and uptime for the price is really good.

Can I ask something about VPS? Between a near VPS ( < 500 miles ) with a slow connection ( 4 Mbps ) and a far one ( > 2000 miles ) with a fast internet ( 100 Mbps ) for hosting a game server. Just a random question :P Thanks!

I use free VPS when I needed one. It is not that secure comparing to paid VPS but it works the same.

You can use free VPS if it is necessary and you don't need to buy the premium account but of course the premium is more secured.

I bought days ago a linux vps, but like I don't know to start. I send an email to support and look at below the response:

We can help you if you pay 25.00 euros per 15 minutes! :o

LOL

There are so many tutorials online that can help with most if not all aspects. It is tricky to start off with but you soon pick up the basics and it all makes sense.
