I have some points about how to deal with spammers :
1- use anti-spam plugins.

2- Don’t allow editing of comments after a few minutes have passed.

3-Ask members to help out moderators and report for any spammers.

4- ban spammers and delete all their content.

5- use CAPTCHA in registering new members.

This should do the trick. But for all of my projects done I only did the number 5.

CyberFreak wrote:I usually use a plugin/mod that checks against the stopforumspam.com database and have some sort of Q&A or another type of visual confirmation (which doesn't ship by default with the software) and usually it works well. Any that gets through I ban, hide the posts and submit to stopforumspam.com to stop them spamming other forums.

I usually only ban them but I will explore this...

Maybe anti spam or module is important because if a moderator will look for it manually then it would be very hard.

Yes, banning them will be the best idea here but also you can make an anti-spam system which sometimes works.

How will we know it's a spam? What if the person is just not that good in English? Do you think it's still a spam?

Anyway, I think there should be moderators and monitors in websites. There should also be an automatic spam checker especially in writing sites because there are a lot of people spamming there.

Can you give me the software name, spam is one of my problem and get tired of transferring it to the trash, just a waste of time.

We can do some level of automation to decide hether the content needs to be posted or not before letting users to post spam content . This is one way that I can think of as a software developer. Other way is to.manually monitor and delete spam content and earn or block the spammers.
