Depends on the forum but I usually prefer white because when I check some other site after reading text on black background, my eyes need some time to adjust again as I'd see colored spots on the screen.

It's interesting that you say that. My husband is the same way. He feels like dark sites are off, like maybe they aren't as reputable or something. It's probably a days of old thing for him as well. I don't know.

I do still think it matters what type of site it is, too, whether or not a dark theme can work.

Bright...

I also think that clean and simple websites are always better.

I will go with the darker one because it is easier on my eyes than the bright one.

I like both, A bright theme for outside and a dark one for low light situations.

i think dark is a bit not nice to the eyes. it contrasts with the brightness of the pc. i think something with a light shade of red or pinkish is good for the eyes

I like dark themes, Bright themes affect my eyes, I usually feel so uncomfortable viewing bright things, that's why I would prefer the dark theme.

It actually depends where you are using it. For gamer websites, dark theme mainly fits.

Unfortunately it has been proved that new users leave websites with dark theme faster than bright theme but it depends on the theme f.ex do not use the darkest black as background and the brightest white as font color.

I like both bright and dark theme. It looks elegant when your words are with a light color.
