Yeah.. this is a good way to attract some people to join your forum. The rewards doesn't have to be that big .. game giveaways could attract many gamers.

Yes no need of big rewards you only need a reward of any type

great tips, how about to check out the questions you want to ask whether had been posted already or not? Quite often some questions are repeated. Any method to check out?

Making a popular forum is not easy job, especilly in 2015 due the Facebook and Twitter...
It takes a lot of time. You will NOT have a popular forum for 10 days or one month, it may take more than a year.

The most important thing is - CONTENT. Your guests won't register if you have just two-three topics. You MUST make at least two topics per day.

Invite your friends...You should invite your friend to register. Tell them how and what to post.

You should create 10 account by yourself. It is better to see Matt, Diana, Andrew, Rick, Michael, adbh13, opplo, redy, buddy, ohone qre discussing that just Matt and Diana. Right?

Advertise your forum on Facebook, TWITTER and another forums.

You should join other forum and post your forum link in signature and 50% of them will visit your forum.

Good luck.

I agree, some forums took more than 5 years and still yet to succeed in finding audience. A few good examples are Tom's Hardware, Overclockers Forum, Forum Wheel and ForumCoin. You can try to think and find out what is their secret behind their success and how do they manage a forum well.

Most forum's stands well when there are enough content, audience, and hope. If a people wants to seek help regarding overclocking, where will he or she seek first? A random tech forum site with little audience or a very popular overclocking forum with elite overclockers and modder's? Clearly he will seek the latter one first because it gives him more hope.

Sorry if I said anything wrong or offended any people.
