It's a shame that your phone became faulty when the contest started. I can't remember now but I believe you made around 3 posts so I was wondering where you had gone to

It was because of the faulty phone that I stopped posting . I missed the fun .

No, it will not. I sold the site a month or two ago. And I won't be running any contests from now on. I don't think it's worth the price really for webmasters to run contests because they don't get enough high-quality content on their sites.

I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. It's also something that I like to do frequently where I setup a site, grow it a bit and then sell it on for a profit

One learns with the experience. Now you know that a site is best profitable by selling and not running contests. At least not the substandard quality type.

To be fair, I think contests can work but just not for smaller forums. If you have a good community and don't have to rely on contests to bring in new members and a lot of content, they can work somewhat

I don't know why I have never been lucky with posting contest but it really an avenue of getting active posters on ones site or forum. Maybe I'm not always active enough to win. But it good for a site.

I ran a contest once for money but I only got one person that was really trying to win the money but maybe that's because I didn't have any prizes for other placements.

Posting contests sound good but not sure how well they work. They might bring in a few more posts but the quality of those posts would be questionable.

Yes, I believe it is a wonderful idea. I often post contests on my telegram channel and sometimes it really evokes lots of interest from users.

Posting contests can go either way IMO. It all depends on how well members post during the contest and make sure they're actually contributing to the forum instead of just wanting to win.

Referral contests are a bit dodgy, both for the users and the site. The majority of the time, you'll get a sign-up but no content from them but you still have to pay the person that referred the most.

Referral contests have since evolved to discourage people from opening alternative accounts just to get points. For instance, here and in some many other forums, the person you have referred must also make a certain minimum number of posts on the forum for you to earn the referral points. Therefore, it is hectic for a doggy person to open another account just to get points. Write 10+ quality posts on the account and the. Come back to his. That valuable time could be used to earn more from his main account.

This approach I feel has improved the quality of the referral system. People no longer automatically earn points on just the sign up of the new member.

Would that be something that interested you?

That would be interesting. But I supposed there should be other sources of income other than posting to win...
