Re: owning a website is becoming a thing of the past

I pretty much dropped everything so I can save more but I had to host customers pages and I got a website with the hosting I got for 78.00 for 8 years thought it was a good deal. I might develop the website I also bought a 1000 package that was a premade business awhile ago. Basically my fees are all one time and gone. But because I can make a website I will probably. Websites are not dead in my humble opinion but I can see why some people would get rid of theirs to save money.

I don't think there should do away with their sites because varieties is the spice of life. People want different things so they would still be some people that would want to still their website. The best bet is just running everything together. Just give people various versions of your platform.

I am only now aware of this tendency. Personally, when it comes to a company, I try to get on its website. I believe that a respected company must own a website. If he only has pages on social media I already suspect. I admit that it is convenient to download the mobile application of an online store, but I still believe that if you do not own a website it is not a reliable company.

The thing is mainstream companies do it, TV networks nowadays uses their websites to just link their social media and that is it. No more content for the website.

There is an old saying that says the only thing that is constant in life is change. I used to wonder if that made sense. It does--the evolving nature of technology and how we interact with it proves that every day.

I guess it does make sense. More and more people are turning to apps due to the convenience in using apps on their mobile phones compared to using a PC to go to websites.

I don't think owning a website is becoming a thing of the past. However, I believe earning from a website is becoming impossible day by day. You will be earning more from app or youtube videos compared to a website.

It is becoming a thing of the past. Capcom a mainstream videogame company just got rid of their forums. Their website is now a link for their socials. CBS a mainstream network television use to have a very interactive website with forums, now they only focus with soc med.

You might have a point. However, I see more and more websites being launched, especially by small businesses and also individuals who want an online presence. It is true that social pages pull more traffic but having a website gives credibility

that is not how thing works, Majority of company websites are just link to their socmeds. People rather use soc meds because they consume less data. majority of internet users dont use pc anymore.

This was true but with social media and youtube shutting so many pages down. A lot of big creators have gone back to having a site of their own with their own hosted videos, as well as ways to monetize. I guess when a need is created own websites made come back lol

Doesn't mean the majority of the users don't visit the official would mean they should abolish their site. Some social media are banned in specific country especially China. So, their site is still useful. And there are things a social media can't that can be done in the official website like registration.

Tv Networks and videogame companies has already shutdown their forums, the only registration they will have are streaming and stores which can be done with apps. Also I own a site and I can tell you I lost members to reddit and facebook pages.

This depends on companies. The mobile I wallet company that I use reply within 2-3 minutes if I post a question via messenger or Viber. However, if I raise a ticket they will not post a reply even in 3 days. However, my hosting company replies the ticket just in 30 minutes.

Social Networks have a deal with Mobile internet providers to consume less data. Some country are even data free so thats why less people goes to official websites. official websites cost a lot of data.

They can create an AI chatbot. It provides all the answers to the user's questions. And it can answer the clients 24/7.
