I agree, can't see much difference between them, that's why I use like 5 adblock extensions :D :D that way I make sure to never see any AD.

I have AdBlock Plus and it's been fine for me! I had to get it because sometimes there are these noisy ads that piss me off when I'm trying to watch a series or something

Scouten wrote:Personally, I don't believe in Adblock because websites deserve and often times need the money they get from ads. Some websites are run purely off of ads, so if everyone had AdBlock the website would eventually be shut down. I do though, understand how some websites over do it with the ads quite a bit, and when that happens I try and find an alternative website that is just as good. :)

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think every site deserves it "just because." A site like this one? Sure, but then again, I have the option to disable Adblock for just this site. I don't have to let all the garbage through on other sites in order to support this one.

I agree, on certain websites that displays too much advertisements and videos containing numerous pauses to play advertisement I think Adblockers are quite important as they save you some loading time and don't eat up so much of your monthly quota.

I agree, I have to disable it to go to faucet's too. If I don't disable they will force me to disable it. But those sites depends on advertisement's to stand, so I guess its okay, just I hope there won't be any malicious payloads hidden in it.

I don't use an adblocker unless I'm getting virus alerts like I did on Radio Loyalty. Many sites depend on their advertising to survive so if they're going to pay me the least I can do is display their advertising. When I did use one I chose Adblock and it seemed to do the trick.

I don't use any of them, I use uBlock Origin because it has less of a load on my CPU and still uses the same filters.

I only use ABP, and it's almost always turned off because PTC sites don't "like it" :S But I have a good free anti virus that blocks what ABP should block so I am gucci!

I use Adblock Plus with my Firefox browser and I love it. I actually have forgotten that it's even there, but it makes surfing the Internet so much less obnoxious. I haven't tried the others you mentioned, but with Adblock Plus, I really don't see the need to go elsewhere.

What kind of adblock should I use and for what purpose? Why do we need to use an adblock? I don't really know if I'm using an adblock right now. Is this an add on for my browser.

Adblock, also known as Advertisement Blocker is an extension found on some browsers to block the rendering of certain scripts with advertisements links in them. They have a set of filter to start with and oftenly allows you to add your own. Adblockers are often versatile and can be customized to your needs but most can also be install-and-forget if you are not a technical user. In my opinion, I think Adblock Plus has the most functionality, Adblock has the minimum memory consumption but I haven't tried Adblock Edge before.

CyberFreak wrote:Personally I use Adguard. It might not be as well known as AdBlock and Ad Block Plus but it works pretty well and fast too.

Just switched from uBlock to Adguard. Supposedly Adgaurd is faster (according to the Adguard developers :P) and I started getting in video ads on Dailymotion which weren't blocked so hopefully Adguard solves that. The new Dailymotion ads are incredibly annoying because they interrupt the video (I got 3 in the space of a 20 minute vid). I very much prefer my ads to be at the start (and if it's a short video, I should be able to skip it after 5s).

I have always wondered what the difference was between these versions. But I have only ever tried one, and that is the ad block plus. To me, I don't see improvement when it comes to going up a version. There are the odd adverts that get through adblock plus, so maybe the version over that stops them.
