It's similar to CodeCademy but it's a paid learning platform: $25 USD/mo. I've just signed up. Initial impression, after an hour 1/2 or so of a Web Development track, is fantastic. I love how everything is very neatly organised, the videos are great, the workspace code editor is nice and there are little quizzes and code challenges to ensure you practice what you learn.
I had considered signing up to Lynda.com, which is by LinkedIn. They have an even larger amount of video content. However, I decided the interactive part of TeamTreeHouse is really beneficial.
Why pay $25/mo? I really think that's great value when considering how much my university education is costing me. A standard Uni paper costs $800 and I complete 9 per year. In NZD, TeamTreeHouse works out at $438/ YR (our exchange rate sucks) which is about half the cost of 1 paper (with waaaay more content and learning). I can use it for both Uni (I do Computer Science papers) and my web projects.
First challenge that I've started involves building a simple portfolio site.
