When I've had blogs, I've tended to publish articles either daily or every second day. Doing that tends to build readership quickly because posting with regularity encourages return visitors and Google loves lots of fresh content. Average article length for blogposts I've made has tended to be short: 300-500 words (with some much longer articles). Length of the articles you write should depend on your niche and the demographics of your readers. Every article you write should be done from scratch but you might have a series or a set of articles that use a similar template to speed up the writing process.

I no longer own blogs, as they do require a large -consistent- time commitment but, unless your blog niche cannot supporting posting that frequently (i.e. there are not enough topics to discuss in the niche), the more you can post the better.

By similar template:
- You might do some "list" posts where you have the top 5 "x" or top 10 things do with/in/at etc.
- For a webhost blog I ran, there was a set way of writing each post. Each would include a little about the company, a review or two if I could find them, the offer and a picture of their website. I could churn each post out (including researching the company) in 20 mins.

I have a couple of blogs, but no schedule for posting. I may post one article every two weeks or two or three in the same week, it depends on how often I have something I think my readers would like to know about. The number of words I post, depends on how many it takes to tell the story and nothing else. My blogs are technical by nature, not stories or chit chat. I look for ideas to share to improve real life activities and you can't project how often they will turn up.

I write about tai chi, fitness etc and sometimes I get a load of ideas at once then other times nothing for a month.

I'd say on average, I probably post 10 blog entries per week. I wish I could do way more, but because of work commitments and my other online ventures, my hands are tied. I generally do 500 word articles, but on those days where I'm struggling to drum up some enthusiasm, I stick with the stipulated 300 words on BlogJob. Yes, I write mine from scratch, and I tend to write on lifestyle issues, and also about my country Botswana.

Wow. I don't think I could do 10 a week. I have the time but not the motivation. Maybe 2-3 a week when I am really feeling creative!

I do the same as Angie since we really rely on blog posting to earn quickly thru Blogjob. But there are days when I don't have anything to write about or I get cramped with other work-related commitments.

I did set and make a challenge of posting blogs 30 days straight. Did it work? Well, sort of.

I learned after that to write less but more powerful articles that were actually helpful and had a particular theme or point.

So, I might publish an article or two a month or maybe 4 or 5. I think once you have published an article you need to promote that article and drive traffic to that article.

Marketing, in my opinion, is the tougher obstacle to handle.

I agree with you on this. Trying to drive traffic towards a published article takes a lot of hard work. It is much easier to write an article. I mean, I'd spend the entire day promoting my article and see a small spike that day only for it to get nil the next day.

I just have one blog and I don't have a schedule to write on it. I write about lifestyle, economic issues and parenting. Some articles have on average 250 words while others are quite smaller, it depends on the topic.

I post usually 3-4 articles per week on my blog, but I use to share always there my BlogJob posts too, and those are between 15 and 20 posts per week.

I post 30 to 35 on different sites 20 of them the shorter ones and 10-15 articles for my other sites. I have almost stopped going to my personal blog for time being.

currently, I am writing and publishing three posts every day on Blogjob. These posts are around 350 words. When I was on bubblews I used to write 10 posts of 120 words every day. When I was Hubpages Apprentice, I used to write 6 articles of 1200-1500 words in a month.

Lately, I used to write only 3 articles or lesser per week on my blog. I have decreased also the number of posts on BlogJob too. Maybe in the future I will start again to write more, as I used to do it in the past,about 20 articles per week.

I don't count them and I don't pressure myself. I write when I find something good to write about that will be of value to my readers and that keeps me on the first page of Google and that's my only goal.

When I was actively blogging, I tried to post two - three articles per week. Generally, I'd post a new article on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It really just depends on the amount of time a person has to write. Then again, it's always a good thing to pre-write multiple articles to ensure that posts can be made on a regular basis.
