Akismet says that it's blocked X number of spam comments and X number of malicious login attempts on my blog. The number seems a bit high to me. Do you get a lot of those? What's a high number? What can I do to help avoid this kind of thing?

I also see the same of WordPress blog but I think the system blocks everything with slightest of doubt. It probably happens with the views coming from twitter. I have seen if you post your link on sites like Stumble upon directly they consider even those views as spam.

Since I quit using Akismet in favor of using WP-SpamShield I don't have as many questions about my results and it works fine. I did have a friend try to post a spam comment to tell me about a program he wanted me to join and it blocked it, so I know (at least that time) it worked as expected.

Yeah, I don't think I'm getting quite as many any more, but it seemed like a wave of malicious login attempts there for a while.

I get 5 login attempts in average every day. I have akismet on my wordpress blog, which blocks all malacious attempts.

I noticed too that Akismet blocks the supposed spam attempts on my WordPress blogs, but never I paid attention to check how many spam attempts were tried on my blogs. I didn't notice that on Blogger, though.

I don't get malicious logins for my blogs, no. I have, however, gotten a few for my Facebook accounts, along with some emails. I reformatted my computer after realizing that I most likely has a keylogger.

Yeah, that's something I thought about as well. I do have really good security on my system though, and I've deep scanned everything with both antivirus and malware protection. I also have a firewall. Everything looked good.

It seemed to be a short lived issue that is back to normal now. Just for a little bit there seemed to be a lot of attempts, and it made me uneasy.

I get 10-1000login attempts daily, I added a CAPTCHA to make sure they never succeed. I had a plug-in telling me what name, password and captcha entry they try, it is scary to see that many attempts daily from a dead and inactive blog.

I don't get malicious login attempt on my blog. I do not use Akismet either. This is really surprising to hear.
