Do you hold contests on your site?

Postby thisnthat » 09 Apr 2016, 18:51

I see a lot of contests on various forums and even some blogs. Have you tried holding contests on your site? Did it work out well for you? What kind of prizes did you offer for the contest winner?

I don't hold contests or give away because I simply don't have the time to do this. My blogging friends did, and it didn't work out very well for them. However, I have seen sites that specialized in coupons, products, and reviews done very well with this sort. I guess, it depends on the niche that your blog is in.

The reason they had contests or give-aways is to gain more followers for their sites, plus followers for their social media sites. Advertisers love to see big numbers and they are too ignorant to know that you can also buy followers from Fiverr.

I start my blog just two months ago, so I'm still learning how to get more followers. I have seen many giveaways on other blogs, but right now I'm working to monetize it, I have many steps to do after enter giveaways.
I have seen contests and giveaways on other blogs, and I know it is a way to get a lot of followers...

No, I haven't done that as a matter of fact haven't really thought about it. Holding some form of contests in a site could help in increasing the number of visitors to that site if well strucured out. I think this is a good idea.

Yes, I was thinking to do it on my own blog in the similar manner like we had in here with the number posts.

Contests are important to drive members to post and come and check out the site.

Right now I'm hosting a posting contest that the reward is an iTunes gift card. I run a music themed website so I thought that was an appropriate reward.

I think contests are great to attract visitors to your site particularly if the prize is interesting and relevant to the theme of your site. Our office website had a contest before where the prize is a ticket for the awards night.

I have never held a contest on my website, but it's a good idea to bring more visitors and to keep them in the nearby.

I do contests/give aways on Promotion Era, but no one is active in it. Freebies aren't good enough.

Holding contests on a site would be one great way to publicize and advertize the site if well handled. If the prizes to be won are of high value and likeable to the contestants I believe more people are going to visit the site in the future partly in anticipation for more contests

I don't do this but if it sounds good enough to do and generates leads then I would try it. I would just make sure I give what I offer. :)

I used to start GD contests on my site as a moderator but I have stopped it for time being. I am planning to begin it again from the month of May.

It's an idea and probably a very good one. I haven't held any contest in the site I am managing. As a matter of fact it has not occured to me to try that. I see sites doing that and I think it's probably going to cost a lot if you going to hold a meaningful and fascinating contests
