Do you make it easy for people to contact you?

Postby thisnthat » 09 Apr 2016, 19:13

On some sites, it seems like it's nearly impossible to get in contact with the admin. Do you make it easy for people to contact you? What options do you offer? Do you check often and respond quickly?

On my blog, I have a contact tab where people can leave comments and I can get back in touch with them. I think in the online blogging industry, You need a contact button. It leads to a very successful business relationship.

I make it as easy as I can, as long as I can slam the door when I need to. My preferred method is Skype, because I can easily control who has access and messages don't get lost in filters.

On my blogs, I have a place where interested parties could contact me if they want. Other than this, my blogging friends know where to find me and have my email address. It is easy nowadays to find contact info, but it doesn't hurt to provide direct access either.

One of the credentials should a web owner or blog site admin is to make his contact visible. The honest intention of the owner of the site is best measured on the visibility of his communication addresses like his email address, his home address, office address.

My blog is quite new, but I have a section on it for contacts. I think that allowing the blog followers contact us is a way to make people feel at easy and familiar with the blog.

Yes people can easily contact me on my blog. My name and email address are all out there for interested visitors to contact me. I'd welcome more contacts especially for business. I equally linked my Facebook page to my blog.

Well, I think there are a number of ways to be reachable without giving out a home address. I think it's fine to use email or other options as long as they're easy to find and use and the response time is quick. I may get a P.O. box at some point as well.

Just keep in mind that when you publish an email address on any website, the spammers will send their scrapers around to gather them up and sell them on the next big CD list, then your spam emails will pile up and ruin that address for good.

I will admit that when it comes to my blogs, I do not make it easy for people to directly contact me. They can, of course, through the comment section. But even with those, I have to approve them before the comments will show up. But I do not give out any personal emails or anything like that.

Yes I do, I have a shop online and my costumers have both my email and phone if they need help. I confess I prefer people to contact me through email rather than phone.

Since my income depends on educating people on the value of what I offer, I welcome phone calls and love to answer questions for them.

What you are doing is the sign of being honest and of being ready for any business to deal with when you are contacted by your prospective clients or customers. This is what I actually look for any blog like the email address and other social media link or contact address.

I think people expect way too much personal information, as well as most sites or services these days. I don't think it's necessary to put all of your private info out there, especially for a blog. If I had a business, sure, I'd use the business phone number, but I'm not giving out my home phone or cell phone number to random people on the internet. Then again, there's really nothing so earth shattering in my blog that it can't be handled via email.

I guess it depends on the sort of site you have? The only sites I have are my three blogs on BlogJob, and I see no need for me to leave any contact details on there because my readers can use the comment space left for them to get in touch. Even if i had an independent site, I'd be very wary of providing my telephone number. Like you, I'd definitely draw the line at giving my email address, at the very most. Better safe than sorry LOL!

But you get the email ID when you get a comment on your blogjob posts. I have a question in my mind does it make any difference?

The easy free solution to that problem is to get a free Google Voice number. You can even send transcriptions of your voice mails to your email address.

Lol. Yes, if people who are pretending to be someone other than who they are, are using Google voice numbers to pretend they are in a different geographical locations in order to catfish people can use Google numbers at, then having one to allow people to contact you is not a bad idea at all.

I offer both Private Message and Email if anyone wants to get in contact with me. I actually added a link in my signature on hostBB to encourage members to send me a PM . I usually respond quickly to messages (as soon as I see them come through unless I have somewhere I need to be of if I need to sleep).
