What should I do with 2millionaires.com ?

Postby Fergal » 10 Apr 2016, 18:42

I own the 2millionaires.com domain name and am not doing anything with it. What kind of site do you think would be suited to that domain name?

Thanks!

Sounds like a presidential race to me. I Would turn it into a page that is about people from all over to share their success stories and what they had to do to get there.

Run a competition with 2 prizes of a million $/£/Euro :P

On a serious note, maybe a site of guides to making money both online and in the real world. Everything from the best items and ways to sell items on a market stall or ebay to guides on investing money in shares and so on.

Or if you can't come up with an idea you like, sell the domain and hopefully someone will have a good idea and might pay some decent money for it.

You might park the domain at Sedo and see if it produces any income for you. You never can tell when someone will want it bad enough to pay more than you imagine. I know at the first part of this year I sold bywc.com for $1,500 through Escrow.com.

Thanks for the suggestion oldbuddy, that really is something I should do in the near future, not just for 2millionaires.com but for a few other domains that I own and am not doing anything with at the moment.

That's a good price. LLLL.com's have been going for anywhere between $300- $2,000 so you very much got near the top end. :)

Perhaps CyberFreak's original fun suggestion isn't so impossible.... If each entry to the lottery gave you $1 and you had 2.5m or 3m entries before you paid out.... That would be assuming incentive networks have enough advertisers allow for that. You would have to specify prizes are only given out once x entries are met.

Edit: Should mention under my lottery suggestion, entries would be free upon completing an offer. :)

I would personally put up a blog about making money.

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback Sam. I'd imagine I'd run into some legal issues if I tried to run a major lotto like that :) However, maybe it is something worth researching to see if there is a way it could be done.

Sounds good and it is what comes to my mind when I think about what someone would expect on that domain.

What I got from Sam's suggestion, was don't charge any money for chances in the lottery, just have them do a CPA task to earn them. You get commission from the CPA site and pay regular taxes on your earnings. Then buy the reward from your profits.

Sounds like a great idea, I'll certainly keep that in mind, maybe something like that could be successful.

There is an Android app called 1million dollar button, you have to click a coin and hope you win all money earned from the ads. You could do the same, but as a website :)

I had a look at their website at http://www.milliondollarbutton.net/, it looks like a great idea. Perhaps something along those lines could work on a website. Will definitely consider it. Thanks for that.

I quite like that idea, It is simple to enter and combined with the smaller prizes given out means that users will not have to wait years for the small chance they might have won. Revenue will probably be small though.

That remains to be seen. It's simple and could easily go viral, so it comes down to how they advertise to you and what kind of revenue that generates from the advertisers. If you talk about getting tens of thousands of clickers that are pushing that button every 15 minutes for a few hours a day, you are racking up a LOT of exposure.

No matter if it goes viral or not, income will still be low for the amount of users. There will be little content with users doing one action and the leaving then coming back later. In terms of page views, there will not be many per user and with the lack of content and the type of site, I am not sure revenue will be that high. I am not to sure if Adsense will be a possibility and it will just be like a Bitcoin faucet. Lack of content and users just come, claim and go. We all know how low paying faucets are. To get a reasonable prize, there will need to be a lot of clicks/entries which in turn means the chance of winning is going to be low.

This argument overlooks the fact that they have your number and can send SMS any time, with no indication where it came from. That's one reason I don't sign up for apps on my phone, I get enough of them already.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, interesting to see different views. Not sure what I will do with the domain yet, but will probably park it soon while I think about it.

The idea was to do something like that app but as a website meaning that Fergal would not have a reason to take users mobile numbers and spam them. I am viewing this from the perspective of the suggestion and not how the existing app which the idea was kinda based off works,
