How long do you wait for a website to load? I like looking at blog posts especially those "how to" posts but often times end up feeling disappointed waiting for a long time to load! I am talking about 30 seconds to a minute. How about you, how long do you wait for a site to fully load - especially those filled with photos/ads/plugins?

Oh same here, @cessy_08.....I haven't got the patience to wait for long, so it's usually 30 seconds to a minute at most. I actually sit there doing the countdown LOL. My internet access is annoying because it's very up and down. Thank God, I'm probably getting better service soon, when I move to a different provider. I'm expecting things to get better for me by a huge bit :D

I don't have the patience if it is not loading in the first minute! A minute is quite a long wait, you know! But if I can see something is loading then I will wait, otherwise, I will proceed onto something else, though I will keep that window opens and come back to it after a while. The decision to completely exit will be by then!

I definitely do not have the patience to wait for much longer than a minute if even that long. If it does not load right away like most websites do then I will just leave and maybe try it again later. I just figure there is something wrong with site or whatever. I do not think with the internet I have it should take that long to load.

I think it is especially annoying when you are using smart phones, right? I tend to hit the back or refresh button A LOT when I notice a site that takes its time to load!

I am a very impatient person, and it is no different with surfing the web. Unless I am earning from a particular site, I will not wait very long for a website to load at all. But it depends upon what I am on the site for in the first place.

I have two or three computers running at once, so waiting is not a problem for me.

AHHA so true! Not unless I really really really REALLY want to read the article, I wouldn't bother waiting for it to load. Earning sites are a lot horrible, too. Especially since I do it at the same time as lunch, I need to finish on my earning sites the same time as lunch so I can get back to my full-time work after.

Lol. The reason why it is taking a long time to load is a factor for me too. Like, is the site taking ages to load sue to an unstable server? Or is it taking forever to load due to all of the videos that you have cramped on the homepage?

I have this problem with a website I learned about on here so I hardly go there anymore. If I hear it getting better, I will check it out again.

load time depends on your set up mostly, the older your computer gets the longer it takes pages with graphics and things to load. it takes awhile for me 30 seconds is on a extra good day, 1 minute to 2 sounds about right

I have a pretty basic graphics card. Intel HD. But most website load perfectly fine for me, and of course if my computer is in good shape and updated, it runs pretty fast. But you make a good point. The problem does not always lie with that of the websites. But when other websites are loading fine and one isn't, you know where the issue lies.

Google now looks at how long your website takes to load and includes that in ranking. If it takes 30-60 seconds to start loading than that is horrible. You must fix that or google will rank you down. I have a lot of pictures in one site and i understand that problem wery well :(

Re: Loading time

Postby LShun » 17 Apr 2016, 01:07

I think the loading times are quite good, 30 seconds isn't unbearable and gives you some time to do something in the middle of it. The loading time actually depends on your internet speed and how far away you are from the server of the site. For example, loading Google search engine will use a few seconds but loading something across continents such as from North America to Asia will take quite some time. Although I'm unsure of how to do it but there might be a way to make the loading of the extensions and add-ons to load after the content, I'm quite curious about sites that loads all add-ons before loading the content, wondering why they do it or is it necessary.

I did not know this. But I feel like it is a pretty smart move on Google's part. They are always changing their SEO ranking criteria aren't they? It is so difficult to keep up with everything. I mean, who wants to get those search results for sites that take an arm and a leg to load first? They should be those last result searches.

I don't think my laptop is the issue for me, though. There are some websites out there that are crazy loaded with ads and plug ins (video streaming grrrr!) so that's always a culprit to loading times.

I agree. One of my earning sites is excruciatingly slow, and I feel like they do it on purpose so that if the server time runs out, you won't get paid after completing a survey. But then other sites don't know where they are going wrong when they load their lading page with too many flash features, such as videos and whatnot. Pictures can slow loading time down too when there are too many

That sucks! I guess that's the common "issue" with earning sites since these rely heavily on advertisements to earn. Did you experience not earning for a completed survey because of the time out?

That's interesting. I didn't know that, but it makes sense. If there are tons of plugins, or worse yet too many ads, it can really bog down a site. I hate waiting, so I'll probably just give up and find another site. If I get in and find that it is because it's overrun with ads, I probably won't be back.

It's fine to have *some* ads, but don't make me feel like that's all you have and sucked me in to show me nothing but ads.
