On an average how much time and money do you spend on link building for your website, like directory submission, article distribution, paid reviews. Do you only spend time, or do you also invest your money for website promotion?

I don't spend any time or money on SEO of any kind. I get most of my traffic from social media and excuse myself from the Google Frenzy game. If I do get listed, it's a result of natural writing about topics people what to know about. The only links I get, are the ones people choose to provide naturally.

Link building or website submission to search engines is done free and it won't take to an hour of doing it. Spending money for website submission or to gain link or backlinks is a waste of money. Writing a quality posts, sharing it to social media is the cheapest way of doing it and it works.

Other than Facebook and Twitter which social media channels do you prefer to use to promote your website? Are most of your visitors from social media sources?

I prefer that way to establish the relationship too. I used to do that with my personal blog. Perhaps for making money purpose, I'd have to learn more about link building, and sharing the posts in networking sites as well.

When I was really into internet marketing, I never used to pay anybody to assist me with building links and backlinks. I used to do everything myself, which might be why I did not succeed in the end. But if I'd had the money I would have paid for help with building my links.

I don't pay anybody to promote my site (I am not yet into that investing approach) but I try to engage in social media to promote it. I find that it helps to get a few visits when I do but there are days when I don't have time for it.

I don't know if we were doing it wrong. I just think that it takes a lot more patience and effort, in order to see decent results, and I needed to earn pronto at the time. I did not have the time to keep spending night and day and not getting anything in return.

I have never spent cash on building links. All those I got were naturally from my writing. I did spent time on popularizing my blog but that too not significantly.
