Hi, I am new to this field, and seriously want to get some tips regarding how to improve search ranking on Google.

Could anyone provide some helpful tips regarding this.

Quality content, searchable keywords, higher number of links pointing to your site and a title with keywords are some areas that are considered in Google search ranking. If you work on this right, there are higher chances of being successful.

I am not sure if Google still ranks site, as for the last three years, all my sites plus friends' sites seemed to be stuck in our current rank. There is another thread in this forum that also said that.

The general rule is that your site must be family friendly, original content, no lifting content of either articles or photos, and be consistent with posting.

There is no shortcuts for anything. You have to provide better quality content for getting good search ranking for your site. Just use better keywords and provide quality writing with some unique content. I am sure you will get good ranking for your hard work. That's the way only.

You need to insert targeted keywords in your articles.

Take care to avoid placing these keywords in a manner that would trigger the alarm bells of search engines and cause problems.
For instance, observe the rules of keyword density.

This link from backlinko sums up very well. But keep in mind that several of those factors are just beliefs as no one knows how the algorithm actually works.
Also, I have a Russian friend who works at Yandex and he said Google will release a major change in the next few months. He hinted that it's something related to SAPE links, so if you guys have any black hat links pointing to your websites, beware.

Make sure you don't fall into "keyword stuffing" (using too many repetitions of your keywords). It's better to use different forms of the word but still don't overdo it.

There seem to be constant changes. Just when you think you know what they want, they'll change it again.

Direct and accurate statements, minimal amount of humor, large audience, layman terms with further explanation for technical details might be useful. Overall it is a hit or miss for SEO, getting people to read what you have is better than getting people to know what you are.

If you are writing articles, you should make sure that they are over 400 words. It would help to get as many articles up as you can. Second, make sure you have articles that explain things in full details (and with pictures if necessary). Third, make sure you have searchable keywords that are popular or even phrases. This is what drives traffic to your blog which in return brings money and advertisements. This is what also increases your ranking in popular search engines.

I think we should not ignore social media and mail marketing. The reason being mail marketing is still strong. And it will continue to be if people stay on email. And social media these days drive more traffic than google's SEO. So that also definitely helps. I have focused mostly on social media than SEO. And the result is really good compared to other forms of traffic.
