Disk Full message on my PC?

Postby ksridharprasad » 27 Sep 2014, 11:17

Since 10 days, I am getting messages now and then about that the "C" disk is full, now itself the message appeared on screen. I have compressed some files and try to remove some files in my "C" disk, but I do not know which are important and which not important. Can any one guide me in this regard.

I'd recommend using cCleaner, it's an excellent free tool for cleaning uneeded files from your PC. I use it on my laptop and desktop and it works really well for keeping both machines running fast and efficiently.

Don't remove files if you don't know if they are important. That could cause programs to not work or may even cause severe issues if you start deleting windows files for example. Firstly uninstall programs you do not need or use. Remove any old images or files you no longer need such as documents, music, videos or backups you have stored. Run a program like CCleaner as mentioned above. You could even buy an external hard drive and move large files onto there such as videos and pictures.

hi CyberFreak,

Thanks for the response, What I have installed in the system I know their importance. The other files are in the System Idoes not know, even on running Ccleaner it is asking to remove the files from the disk. Is it easy to transfer the unwanted files to transfer with external disk or device.

Hi Friends, First Run CCleaner and then Tune utilities. Tune up utilities will show many options to protect your disk space. For more information Google it up. But if you dont have any space to install them, just go to run type %temp% and delete all the files, and again go to run type temp and delete all the files you will see atleast half of a GB space free for yourself.... :D

Just install Ccleaner..it isn't that difficult to navigate. Run clear history/temporary files every single day and you will keep the clutter to a minimum. Also remove old installation files of the programs that you don't need. As long as you don't touch the windows folder most of your files should be safe. Only remove the programs that you have never used.

When you run %temp% or temp, you get opened Temporary Windows Files and Temporary Internet Files and both are what less necessary and not harmful for deletion so you can delete them without any hesitation or query about your computer to be crashed. Simply, nothing wrong will happen....try it... :P

I said previously, CCleaner and Tune Up Utilities both are good together. Tune up also has options to disable and remove inactive programs and based on your instructions and settings only. You have a choice to run your PC is High performance or High Visualisation....Try it...You will like it... :D

You dont try manually cleaning temporary files...its tough... try what is said above.... 8-)

Yeah. Im using it too. Otherwise you can type"%temp% in your window search, it takes you to a folder, delete all. You can save 2-3gb disk :D
