Their starter plan allows only one website to be hosted, and they charge customers monthly. Some hosting companies charge annually, a lower fee.

Having run a hosting company with a few hundred clients, I can tell you that it's worthwhile paying $3-$4 a month for a shared hosting plan. We charged a fair price on our shared hosting and I never felt like we were cutting corners: 24/7 support, SSD Cloud server, Special Unixy plugin for Speed etc. and we even provided a free CDN for clients. We undercharged for our VPSes and I was forever trying to keep costs down.

Anyone who knows about web hosting, can have all the websites the disk space and bandwidth will support. All they need to do is redirect their second domain name (or more) to a folder on their hosting account. If they use masking, no one can tell the difference. On larger packages they do let you pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, but I don't remember if the starter package had that. I didn't care, because they let me pay with Forum Coin.

Users are able to pay annually for the starter plan as well.

They have quarterly, semi annual and annual plans too. The best part is that they are offering almost the same price as an annual plan for a monthly plan, too.

USHOST247 is decent if you're looking for a basic hosting plan, but not the best I've ever used. If you're serious about your site use Digital Ocean.

I have heard good reviews about USHOST247 from another reputable forum. I haven't gone for their services yet and I can't say much right now.

If you do use them, make sure you keep the bill paid or they hit you with a $6 late charge.

I would imagine most hosts do have a late fee charge so it isn't really a big deal... especially as users should pay before the due date anyway ;)

I remember our late fee was 20% for clients. What's the $6 as a percentage of your bill?

Since the account cost $1.95 a month that's over 300% late fee and was enough for me to decide not to renew. In 15 years hosting hundreds of accounts, I have never had to pay a late fee when I was late (usually just an oversight), they just disabled the account until it was paid at the normal rate.

Ideally I don't think it's right to charge a customer late fee if they happen to pay late. Why not be okay with disabling the account in that period the hosting expired. Payment should be kept at normal rates whether late or early for a healthy business

Does credit card companies just disable your account until it is paid?
Credit card companies will charge you around $30 for being late.

The late fee is 10% or $5.99 (whichever is higher) This applies to any account services you have with us.

I don't object to your charging any fee you like, as long as I still have the right not to pay it. I think 300% is exorbitant for a $1.95 account and those considering one should be forewarned.

That is perfectly fine to have your own opinion, although it is a business practice that pretty much any business that sends you a bill does. If you have $0.01 on your credit card and you don't pay by a certain date, you still owe $30.
The fee encourages people to not pay late, or else they are penalized. If people worry about the late fee, then don't pay late?

Many companies charge late fees. I think the issue is that the fee was three times as much as his payment would have been. How does that equal 10%? What am I missing?

What you missed is."whichever is higher". $5.99 is considerably higher than 10% ($0.195)
