Mybb

Postby Jybraek » 03 Oct 2014, 20:30

So I have been looking around for Forum Softwares like Mybb or Phpbb..and read up a lot on them but the thing is knowledge is only one part of the experience with something, I want to put that knowledge to some use and tried a lot of things to look around for a free hosting site that has Mybb support so I could play around with Mybb and test out its features and everything. But I can't seem to find any...do you guys know of a free hosting service that I can use just for test purposes and learning....

All free hosts support MyBB, you can install it in any free host. But the best option is to use Localhost for testing purpose.

Check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Localhost

You will have to download http://www.wampserver.com/en/ to access localhost.

Or if you don't want to shift through a ton of wikipedia files... :P

Your localhost is basically the primary device being used, and isn't connected to a network. For most people, it's their computer. :P

You can use something like XAMP or WAMP to run php/databases on your computer instead of doing it on cpanel or a server. I would recommend XAMP for this, as most people appear to get it working easily.

Xamp roger that, will try it out as soon as I can. Thanks for the help guys, hopefully this will help me to get to learn the software itself better and see how the forum would like like from my own perspective before I find a hosting site for it.

Are you a pilot? Or perhaps a virtual pilot on some flight simulator by any chance? :) I used to love flight simulation/ aviation videos myself.

I did some pilot training before I had to stop. Too expensive and stuff...

Ah, indeed. After learning about aerodynamics, I wanted to fly too. But the costs are quite high. Which state did you try in? The prices are higher if there's more traffic in the airspace. :P

I tried it in Washington when I was there before moving to philippines. I would love to take up piloting again but highly doubt I will have the money for it anytime soon.
