Twitter

Postby Decentlady » 23 Jun 2016, 08:02

I want to join Twitter but for only the purpose of getting some referrals and advertising my blog. I have no clue how to go about it. It looked complicated to me as I donot understand why could I read tweets by famous celebreties even without having an account there. Is there no need to have an account to access another Twitter user's page like in facebook?

I'm like you, except I did join a year or two ago. But then because the site never really appealed to me, my account is lying dormant. I initially opened it to share my writing articles and my Fiverr gigs, but I have yet to do it. IDK why, but Twitter just doesn't draw me in at all :(

Its pretty simple actually, just join it follow people you like and you'll get some followers too. And then tweet whatever you want.
And yes, you don't need an account to view the tweets, its all public but you can set them private too in your settings, by that way only your followers will see your tweets.

Twitter is actually easy to use, if you use it right, it can bring some traffic. If you just advertise your blog or whatever, it won't have the effectiveness at all.

The best and simplest way to do is to have an account, find lots of people who are in the same niche or interesting to follow first, but don't tweet anything from your blog if you don't have followers because no one will see it; only you.

While waiting to have a good number of followers, find something interesting from the people that you followed and tweet their shares. They will appreciate it, and then they will share your tweet to their circles. That is how it expands and you will get the most out of your promoting effort.

Same thing applies to other social media sites!

Very true. I'm still in the process of building a "social media presence." I absolutely hate it, and it goes against everything I'm comfortable with, but these days you don't have much choice.

I definitely wouldn't just make an account and start spamming it with links to stuff you want to promote. People can see through that. Instead, follow people/topics that are similar to your own and even some that are loosely related. Post on their feeds, share their stuff, add some things to your page that seem interesting and on topic. Then, after a while, you can start promoting. Promote others too so they will return the favor.

I think that @IcyFirefly said it all. I started by following people and retweeting things that they were sharing to gain people who would do the same for me. I have a few that will do that. I have learned that you should also thank them for sharing and retweeting. As well as acknowledging your new followers. It is nice when you get acknowledged and it makes it more personal if you do the same.

I am not too freak using twitter though I opened an account there long ago. I am looking to sharing articles through there when I start writing and that's probably going to be the main reason I'll be back there

The only thing I do with Twitter is use it to complete Tasks on another website I use, where people pay me Tokens to Follow them or Retweet one of their Tweets.

I joined twitter solely to further my internet marketing ventures, as I had seen some tips on how to use twitter to your advantage. I did not get much use out of it, despite the technique being pretty clever. Most people just saw my account as spam.

I am sure you can! What I learn is that if you have a good 100-200 followers, and if you can get about 10-20 people to retweet your shares, that would be a fantastic way to get traffic. The genuine followers are the best, something in your niche, or people from your close circle work out best.

You will get a hang of it in no time at all on Twitter.

Oh wow, that's really helpful @IcyFirefly! I had no idea I'd have to build a following before sharing my stuff LOL I was just going to go straight into it LOL But I guess it makes sense. I'm gonna have to start shaking a leg then, because I need to start sharing my Fiverr gigs like YESTERDAY. Thanks again :)

Gosh, it seems pretty involved, but I guess it's well worth it in the long run! Thanks for your input, thisnthat; it's very helpful. Maybe we should all hook up on there and help each other out :)

@Angie10 Yes, it will take lots of work first, but once you have a good base number of followers, it will be easier. You still have to check in your Twitter account and see who re-tweets your shares, and re-tweet theirs to keep the relationship going or check to see who is following you, etc.

In a long run, it is beneficial should BlogJob comes back or other writing sites, you can tweet your post, and get more views from your tweets.

You would be surprised to note that I can earn $2-3 on twitter everyday just by sharing my posts/others posts. Twitter has earned my thousands of $$$ in all these years.

Care to elaborate how? Are people in here ready to interconnect on Twitter? Who is willing to join the network on Twitter from forumcoin? I believe it would be win-win for everyone.
