Do you use any kind of animation on your websites? Is there any website you refer to for getting ideas and making the code ?

No, I don't since I worry about the loading time of my site! There are many other people from all over the world that still don't have reliable internet connection, and or still using dial up. I try to stay away from too many ads, or media. The bounce rate would be horrible if they click on the site and it won't load; and they close the site without ever coming back.

I have used some animated GIF's that I copied or created with Photoshop Elements from ideas I get while surfing hundreds of ads every day. However, I am more into providing the information without all the extras that take time away from my other activities.

You can make use of the HTML 5 anination. Also JQuery animation an be good. Remember that HTML 5 and Jquery animation don't hurt the browser. Avoid Flash animation if possible. Nobody wants to run flash on their browser anymore. It is only going to turn them away from the site.

I don't like animations on websites, they make it slow to load and can lag too.

If I see them on a website, I'm immediately put off. I just don't find them necessary and all this talk of it enhances SEO is unsubstantiated.

It eats in data and bandwidth, and the idea is to keep visitors on your site and not push them away. Most people are so impatient, if a page doesn't load properly they have gone.

Animation on a website wouldn't in itself put me off but if the site took a long time to load, yes I would be gone as impatience is one of my worst characteristics! My partner despairs of this and my short concentration span!

Keep in mind, there are levels of animation like anything else online. Just because you have some, it doesn't automatically mean it's going to slow down the website that much and if it enhances the content, it can be a very good thing.
