Postby ksridharprasad » 26 Nov 2014, 11:14

Hi friends,

I have started learning HTML through "codeacadamy" when adding image image. I have to find the "url" of that image and it should be put in between the <>, but I have not find how to copy the url of the image/photo/picture. Share your experience about this please....

So, you are asking how to copy image URL? It is simple, on modern browser, right click (on image) → Copy Image Url.

I understand why you keep uploading pictures to Forumcoin now..

He means the reason why you upload images rather than remotely linking to them is because you were not sure how to find the URL of an image.

ksridharprasad does this help you, from our FAQ.

Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

To remotely link to an image posted elsewhere, include the image URL in the [img] tags as shown below;

Code: Select all
[img]http://www.businessadviceforum.com/images/business_forum_logo.jpg[/img]

When that code is added to a post, the image is included as follows;

Hi Fergal,

I am copying the picture from Google to my desk top and then add to the posts. Some time I take screen shot of the picture and adding it to the post.

Don't copy from google to the desktop. Just copy the image link from google itself since this is for practice. When you start coding on your desktop itself without using the codecademy website, you will find it easier to do so then from the desktop. But its usually better to upload it to other websites like Photobucket or things like that. I believe someone had a photosharing site linked here somewhere on the forum.
