Twitterfeed Closure

Postby nakitakona » 19 Oct 2016, 10:53

Are you familiar with this logo below?

Image

This isTwitterfeed icon. It represents online site which has made my blog site contents or posts automatically go live at the Internet and directly send my latest posts or updates in the form of RSS feeds to my readers or followers. My posts are fed automatically to my Twitter account.

As I opened my email this morning, the founder or owner of this site sent me a notice that Twitterfeed would be closed on the 31st of October. He had recommended two sites which handle similar function as TF.

Are you using Twitterfeed for the circulation of your site's contents especially to get more traffic for your site?

I joined it very recently. So it is a bad news for me. I do not understand why many sites close their shop after running it for a year or two.

It's sad that the site is closing. It was one of the good site for the automation. And this means the amount of time it takes for the website to carrry further. this is what happens to most of the business if they are not in the profit.

Posted on the site - "Twitterfeed will be shutting its doors on Oct. 31st. Please transition your account to another service before that date, we recommend Buffer or Dlvr.it. Thanks for all the feeds!"

I also use IFTTT.com which is free and can automate lots of different kinds of feeds.

Does anyone know why it is closing? I would have thought that a site that well known could have been sold for a reasonable price, which would probably have been favourable to the the site's users and current owners. Is there a reason why the current owners have to close rather than sell?

Copyright issues. I heard in another forum that Twitter sent those guys a Cease and Desist letter as they use Twitter's brand name as part of their domain without permission.

I have no secure source to link to you guys other than a forum post but it might be legit. The guy claims to have worked with Mario, the founder of twitterfeed.

Thanks walash, yes that does seem to make sense. It's difficult to get away with using the name of a major business, unless of course you have their permission.
