Hmm.. so most forums software by default, show your forums state at the footer. Some forums software allow you to disable it.. Do you show your website state at the footer for guest to see? For me, I dont. Since my website is still new and there is around 50 members so... Not showing would be better . What about you?

I would show it regardless of whether it is small or big. One of the main reasons for that is, I want them to be able to know how many people are there and not give them a fake message. Its up to them to decide if they want to be part of the startup or not.

You can use many forum widgets available on the web sea, just google up, its not a very costly task. Many forums, have options for saying about..all the users just as MyBB...
