Postby shamzblueworld » 08 Dec 2016, 12:16

Can anyone help me with integrating google analytics with my website built on codeigniter?
I tried googling but no solution is found, anyone who has experience in this regard?

Do you have footer.php in your codeigniter app? If yes, use the google analytics code in footer of that app. I am assuming here that footer.php will remain common file in all the pages of the codeigniter app.

Thank you, yes I do have footer. Added it to footer. Will see if it works for me or not, I did not do so earlier because I saw many complaints of people that its not working for them.
Lets hope it works for.
Thank you

It only works on the files that are common through entire application. Also if any part of your google analytics has login or sign in option inside dashboard. Then you have to find a way for the google analytics javascript to make the call. Because often the dashboard data is harder to log in google analytics. You may need to read up on this.

I do have login/signup system and pages where only members can go but footer is common for all of them?
Will it be able to track those pages too then?

Usually it does check from all the pages including the dashboard system. I think you have to read documentation of google analytics in case if you want to track such logged in data capture. I am not sure as I have not tried it under HTTPS scenario.

Its not an HTTPS site, and I have the code snippet in footer before the closing body tag. It is included on all pages of site.
Though google is verifying that the code is there, I am still unable to see the real time traffic? What could be wrong there now?
I have checked on Google Tag Manager and it says that Missing HTTP support. Know anything about that?
